Happy Thursday McMeen Families!

Thank to everyone who came out to McMeen Eats @ Chipotle. We raised $374 for McMeen! There is just a little over a week before Winter Break but there are a couple more events before we close out the year! Here's what PTO could really use your help with.

  1. We are still in need of lots of volunteers to help with Winter Festival on Thursday, 12/14. Please sign up for a 30 minute spot (or two!) if you are able. Winter Festival Volunteer Signup
  2. Reminder that donations for the Winter Festival themed basket raffle are due Monday, 12/11. Each grade has a different theme. Information here: Winter Festival Raffle Donation Information
  3. Read-a-thon ends Sunday, December 10. Remember to log minutes and donations in the app or turn in your hard copies to your teacher next week (12/11-12/14).

❄️ Winter Festival
When: Thursday, December 14 @ 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Details: Winter Festival is an all school celebration hosted by the McMeen PTO. It provides an opportunity to bring our community together and also to raise money for McMeen. 🧹 Winter Clean Up Day
When: Saturday, January 20 @ 9-11 AM
Details: Let's keep McMeen looking pristine! Drop by anytime to help clean up our school.

 
🧸 Toy & Clothing Drive for McMeen Families in Need
Please consider supporting McMeen families in need. There are two ways:
  1. Donate new or gently-used clothes and other essential items: Sign up to Donate.
  2. Purchase holiday gifts for McMeen students: McMeen has partnered with local toy store, Beyond the Blackboard, to provide holiday gifts for McMeen students in need. Beyond the Blackboard will wrap each gift purchased and include additional stocking stuffer items. Cash donations will be used to purchase Target and King Soopers gift cards for families. Use discount code “McMeen” and put McMeen in the ship-to section (1000 S Holly Street, Denver, CO 80246). Deadline for purchase is 12/12.

Our goal this school year is to have 50% of families signed up to help raise funds. So we can track participation, please email us with a screenshot of your signup along with your student's name and teacher. Need help linking your account? Email us and we can help.

Don't have the bandwidth to volunteer but want to help? There are other ways! Make a donation to the PTO. Contributions help fund school projects, events, and scholarships. McMeen Elementary PTO is a 501(c)3 organization and contributions may be tax-deductible. Make a donation here.

Businesses can support McMeen through the new sponsorship program. 100% of the money raised by the PTO sponsorship program for the 2023-2024 school year will fund fund teacher grants, programs, and classroom resources at McMeen Elementary. The McMeen Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) exists for the purpose of supporting the education and well-being of children at McMeen by fostering relationships among the students, families, staff, and community. This mission is accomplished through volunteer support, fundraising efforts, community-building events, and teacher and programmatic support. Membership is free and open to all McMeen families and staff.
