01/01/25, 9:01 AM
Dear McMeen Community, I would like to share an update about our Assistant Principal, Ms. Lauren Bartsch, and her continued growth in the Learn to Lead Principal Residency Program. Lauren successfully completed Year 1 of this prestigious program last year here at McMeen and has been serving as a Year 2 Principal Resident throughout this school year, further refining her leadership skills and gaining valuable, hands-on experience in preparation for future leadership opportunities. The Learn to Lead Principal Residency Program is designed to equip aspiring principals with the tools, experience, and confidence to lead schools effectively. Lauren’s participation in Year 2 reflects her readiness to take on greater leadership responsibilities, and this residency provides her with opportunities to deepen her expertise and make an even greater impact at McMeen. Throughout this year, Lauren has taken on additional projects and responsibilities. Moving forward, you will notice her facilitating more meetings, sharing school updates such as quarter progress reports, and becoming more visible in key leadership areas. This is a valuable opportunity for Lauren to continue refining her skills as we work together to ensure McMeen’s success. Lauren is a seasoned and equity-driven educational leader with 16 years of experience in education, including 11 years in leadership roles within Denver Public Schools. Currently serving as Principal Resident at McMeen Elementary, she is focused on building upon her leadership skills in preparation for a future principalship. Her career highlights a strong commitment to advancing equity, supporting language development, and fostering a holistic approach to education that prepares students for success beyond the classroom. Driven by her passion for equity and community engagement, Lauren models reflective leadership by continuously examining her own practices and biases. As a parent herself, she strives to create an environment at McMeen where every student feels welcomed and excited to learn. Her participation in Year 2 of the Learn to Lead program not only enhances her professional growth but also brings great value to our school as she tackles key initiatives and contributes fresh perspectives to our work. I could not be prouder of Lauren and her growth as a leader. She is more than capable and continues to approach her learning with dedication and passion. I know she will bring tremendous value to this role, now and in the future, and McMeen is fortunate to have her. Thank you for your ongoing support of Lauren and our leadership team. Please join me in celebrating her continued growth and success in this exciting next step in her journey! Warm regards,
