Message from the Principal Resident - Quarter 3 Report

03/25/25, 11:01 AM

Dear McMeen Families,

I hope you're enjoying spring break! We're three quarters of the way through the school year, so I wanted to share a quick update on our students' academic progress.

Our students are mostly on track to meet our academic goals. I'm excited to share that our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders have exceeded our 2024-25 math goals, and that our multilingual learners' English skills have been growing strong.

The one area where we seem to be off track is early literacy. 38% of our kindergarteners, 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders are at or above grade level in literacy, while our goal is 66%. Improving our students' early literacy will be our primary focus when we return from spring break.

I also wanted to share our current attendance rate - it is 86%. Research shows that regular attendance at school helps students succeed both academically and socially. You can set your Mustang up for success by getting them to school on time every day!

Check out the below report (also attached as a pdf) for more details on our progress towards our academic goals.

Warmly,
