Dear McMeen Community,

Thank you so much for joining us at last night’s Meet the Teacher event! The new paint and floors turned out beautifully, didn’t they?

I’m really excited for the upcoming school year, and to help everything run smoothly, I wanted to share a few friendly reminders:

  • Crosswalk Safety: Please be sure to avoid blocking crosswalks or our neighbors’ driveways during drop-off and pick-up. We appreciate your help in keeping everyone safe!

  • Morning Drop-Off: The playground/blacktop area at the back of the school is where all students should be dropped off. Ms. Bartsch and I will be there each morning to greet you and your child with a smile!

  • Tardiness: The doors for morning arrival open at 7:30 AM and will be closed/locked at 7:50 AM. If you arrive after 7:50, please walk your student to the front doors as they will be marked tardy. There won’t be any adult supervision after 7:50, so please don’t drop off your student unattended. Classroom instruction starts promptly at 7:40 AM, so please ensure your child arrives on time.

  • Front Door Use: The front doors are reserved for ECE parents in Ms. Aldaz’s class ONLY. If you see families lined up in front of the school, they are registering their children for school. Please remember that parents will not be allowed in the building to walk their student to class. This policy is in place to ensure we know who is in the building at all times, keeping all students safe and ensuring they interact only with safe adults.

  • Kiss and Go: Please use the Kiss and Go lane for morning drop-off, and remember not to park in this lane—it’s just for a quick drop-off.

  • Afternoon Pickup: All students will be released on the blacktop in the afternoon. School ends promptly at 2:40 PM. If you are running late, please call the school. There is no adult supervision after 3:00 PM, so timely pickup is EXPECTED.

  • Early Pickup: If your child needs to leave early, please pick them up before 2:10 PM. We’re unable to release students during the last 30 minutes of the school day.

If you have any questions about these guidelines, feel free to email me. I’ll also be discussing them at Back to School Night.

Looking forward to a wonderful year together!

Thank you again,
