🪅 Día del Niño Was a Success! Thank you to everyone who joined us for Dia del Niño! It was wonderful to celebrate with you all last Saturday. Thank you to our parent group (the PTO) for all their hard work organizing the event and thank you to everyone who volunteered!
🍎 Teacher Appreciation Week is Next Week, May 5th-9th!
Remember to print and fill out a thank you note for teachers & staff here. Don’t forget specials teachers, paras, student services, office staff, admin, Discovery Link staff, etc. — whoever has made a difference in your child’s life! You can also sign up to donate snacks and treats.
💃 Multicultural Night: May 15th Multicultural Night is our biggest event of the year and you won’t want to miss it! Mark your calendars: it will be Thursday, May 15th from 4-6 p.m. at McMeen. If you’re interested in bringing a food dish, learn more here. If you're interested in having your child participate in the fashion show, learn more here.
☀️ Field Day is May 22nd and 23rd Mark your calendars: Field Day will be Thursday, May 22nd and Friday, May 23rd at McMeen. More details coming soon!
🌺 Class Meet-Ups: 4th Grade and Kindergarten We have class meet-ups this weekend for 4th grade and kindergarten! These are a completely optional way to get to know other families while your students play. Feel free to bring a snack to share if you’d like!
💊 Message From Nurse Miriam As we get closer to the end of school, please know that if you submitted medications to school for your student you will need to make sure that they are picked up no later than 2 p.m. on June 2nd. If medications are not picked up by this time, Nurse Miriam will dispose of them due to DPS policy that no medications be left in the school over the summer break.
💛 Value of the Month: Integrity Our value of the month for May is integrity. Integrity means being honest, taking responsibility for your actions, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching. You can encourage your child to behave with integrity by sharing some of the following advice:
