8) Update from the Teller Health Office:

You might have already heard, DPS will be following CDC guidelines for COVID infections. They are going to treat COVID like the other respiratory infections such as RSV and FLU.

Students/Staff can return to school/work if they have been 24 hours fever free with no fever reducing medication, and your symptoms have improved.

There are no guidelines for wearing a mask upon return, but you can certainly wear one if you would like for the 5 days as we advised previously.  The guideline mentions distancing. If staff/students cannot distance themselves all day, then I recommend wearing a mask to stop the spread.

Attached are the new guidelines.

Lastly, please see the attached flyer about Denver Health.

9) Gardening at Teller!

Our third grade classes finished planting our school garden last week, but the preparations for the garden began months ago.  Our first grade classes begin growing seeds in their classrooms at the beginning of March.  They cared for these plants on a daily basis and watched the plants grow and change.  They had the opportunity to share their plants and how to plant seeds with their fourth grade book buddies.  Second grade students helped to cut down the cover crop that held the soil in place through the winter and will decompose in the soil to add nutrients.  Third grade put new mulch, donated by Councilman Hinds office, in the pathways.  Fourth grade planted cool season plants in early May and third grade transplanted all of the plants that first grade grew last week.  It's been quite a spring getting the garden ready and we are eager to watch it grow over the summer.  When school resumes this fall, students will harvest the produce to be given to the Teller Food Pantry.  It's a great lesson in how plants grow, seed to table, and helping others.
