6) Volunteers Needed for Summer Garden Maintenance

Our Teller Tigers have been hard at work getting our garden ready.  First grade has been growing seeds in their classroom, second grade prepared the garden for planting, kindergarten planted seeds in the garden, and third grade transplanted the plants that the first grade grew. To keep all of this awesome work going, we need families to help maintain the garden over the summer.  Families can expect to spend approximately one hour in the garden on each day they sign up for doing weeding, pest control, watering the front planters, and other garden tasks as needed.  In exchange, families are welcome to harvest ripe produce from the garden during their work day.  Complete instructions (including pictures) will be provided prior to your scheduled day - no previous gardening experience is needed.  We are looking for volunteers to come in on weekends (Saturday or Sunday) and midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) throughout summer break - sign up for one day or several.  To sign your family up, please visit our Sign Up Genius page.

7) Fall Enrichment Brochure & Registration Information

We’re excited to share the Fall 2025 Enrichment Brochure! Please take a moment to review the class offerings and details. Registration will be available through MySchoolBucks, and late registrations will not be accepted.

Key Dates:

    • Fall Session: August 25 – October 31
    • Makeup Week: November 3 – 7
    • Registration: July 30 – August 13

If you plan to apply for a scholarship, the form (linked on the first page of the brochure) will go live when registration opens.

8) All Library Materials Due by May 16th

Parents and guardians, we kindly ask that all library books and materials be returned to the school library by Thursday, May 16th. Please check with your child to ensure any borrowed items are brought back. Your help in making sure everything is returned promptly is greatly appreciated.

We will be sending reminders to families if their student has not returned their items by the deadline. There will be a fee for any books that are not returned.

If you have any questions, please reach out to jennifer_bartos@dpsk12.net

9) Return Books Back to Classroom Libraries

As we come to the end of the year, teachers are asking parents to please check their bookshelves and bedrooms at home for any books that may belong to the classroom libraries. We appreciate all the efforts to get the school library books returned to Ms. Rosie and it is just as imperative that the classrooms have those books returned as well so students in coming years have a vibrant and extensive library in their classroom.  Many students take books home and  forget to bring them back.  Most are labeled with the teacher name, initials, or Teller.  Thank you so much for your help with this!

10) THANK YOU FOR A SUCCESSFUL FIELD DAY!

A HUGE shoutout to everyone who made Field Day such a memorable and successful event! We are especially grateful to our incredible Station Leaders, Student Captains, and Parent Volunteers—this day was amazing because of YOU!

A very special thank you to Cheryl Ruiz for your help with setup—your behind-the-scenes support was truly appreciated and made everything run smoothly!

Thank you again for going above and beyond to create such a fun and memorable experience for our students. We appreciate you so much!

11) Have You Seen the Signs?

Teller Elementary signs are springing up across the neighborhood — and they’re more than just school spirit. They’re a call to our community: neighbors, proud alumni, families, and anyone who believes in the power of a great local school.

These signs are an invitation to donate funds to continue supporting the students who bring so much energy and heart to our area.

Every donation helps fuel the programs, services, and classroom resources that help our kids thrive — and ensures our incredible teachers and staff have the tools and support they need to keep doing what they do best.

So when you see a sign, know it’s more than a marker — it’s a message of hope, pride, and possibility.

12) Milk Caps for Moola

This program allows our school to earn funds by collecting Longmont Dairy bottle caps!  There are collection bins inside Teller’s front door at the Capitol Heights Pharmacy as well. You can drop these off at Teller before the summer break. The pharmacy will be open over the summer, so please drop them off there if you’d like!

13) No School – Monday, May 26th

In observance of Memorial Day, there will be no school on Monday, May 26th. We hope you enjoy the long weekend and look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, May 27th.
