10/07/24, 6:31 AM
Hello Teller Families,
We’ve noticed a rise in traffic concerns and unsafe practices around Teller in the morning and afternoon, so we’d like to take a moment to remind everyone of the drop-off and traffic guidelines around Teller. This information can also be found in our Teller Family Handbook. Thank you for your understanding, efforts, and cooperation!
Important Information for Families:
- Safety First: To ensure the safety of all students and staff, please take a moment to review Teller’s drop-off map for the morning traffic flow. Remember, parking is not allowed on the east side of Garfield Street as that is reserved for our bus—cones are placed to remind everyone. Families parking on Garfield St. or Jackson St. should not encourage their students to run across the street. It’s crucial that all students use the designated crosswalks for their safety.
- No Parking Zones: Kindly refrain from parking in designated no-parking areas.
- Bus Lane Reminder: No dropping off on the east side of Garfield Street, as it is reserved for bus traffic only.
- Kiss-n-Go Lane Hours: Our Kiss-n-Go lane on Jackson Street will be open Monday through Friday from 7:25 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. We encourage all families to use this lane to help minimize traffic congestion. For a quick flow, please have students ready when you approach Teller staff.
- Crosswalk Safety: For everyone’s safety, please ensure that your child uses designated crosswalks and do not encourage them to run across traffic. We have two Teller staffers at each crosswalk surrounding the school.
- Staff Parking: The staff parking lot is exclusively for staff members. If you are walking to school, please use the appropriate crosswalks and sidewalks, do not walk in the parking lot as teachers/staff will be arriving.
- ECE Drop Off: ECE parents/guardians must sign in and out every day. Unfortunately, ECE families cannot use the Kiss-n-Go lane and should park in a designated area to walk their student to the ECE door.
- Parking Advice: If you are not using the Kiss-n-Go lane, please be aware that parking is limited. We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early to find parking and walk your child (using designated crosswalks) to the blacktop. Remember to respect our neighbors by not blocking any driveways.
- Arrival Expectations: All students—whether walking, dropped off via the Kiss-n-Go lane, or arriving with a parent or guardian—must go directly to the teacher pickup area. Please note that students are not allowed to play on the field, play structures, or blacktop upon arrival.
Kiss-n-Go Lane Details:
The Kiss-n-Go lane on Jackson Street will operate Monday through Friday from 7:25 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. We encourage all families driving to school to use this lane, which helps reduce the number of cars needing parking.

- Safety Guidelines: Please do not turn around, back up, or pass other cars while in the Kiss-n-Go lane.
- Respect Our Neighbors: Avoid parking in or blocking driveways around Teller. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
- Prepare for Drop Off: Have your student ready to exit the vehicle as you approach the double gate. Please wait until you reach the double gate before allowing your child to exit, and ensure they only exit on the curb side.
- Assistance Available: Please do not exit your vehicle to assist your child. Our dedicated staff will be on hand to help as needed.
- Post Drop-Off Guidance: After 7:40 a.m., the Kiss-n-Go lane closes. Parents/guardians will need to park in designated zones and escort their child to the main entrance on Garfield Street.
