Students will have the chance to explore and learn through a variety of displays, including traditional spices, clothing, flags, maps, and language posters.

3) CSC New Member Applications

The Collaborative School Committee (CSC) is currently accepting applications for parent members for the 2025-2026/2026-2027 school years.  There are three open positions up for election.  If you are interested, you can complete an application form online at the following links:

The application deadline is Friday May 2 at 3:00 pm.  If more than three applications are received, an election will be held May 5-9.

The purpose of the CSC is to enhance student achievement, engage the school community, provide strategic direction as stated in the Universal Improvement Plan (UIP), and bring community and parent voice to the table.  For more information on CSC, please visit this site

The CSC is composed of six parents, one PTA representative, no more than five teachers, and one community member.  Members commit to a two-year term.  The primary role of the CSC is to advise the principal on the school's Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) and budget.  Additionally, the CSC provides input on program design changes, school and community engagement, principal evaluation/selection, school schedules and safety and discipline procedures.  The committee typically meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 5-7 pm from September to May.

4) Please Donate Books for… Teller Elementary’s Fourth Annual Book Swap!

We are excited to announce Teller’s Fourth Annual Book Swap!  Those long days of summer bring time for students to enjoy reading.  What is better than “new to you” books to encourage students to read?  We will welcome donations of gently loved books that we will organize and display in the library.  Every student will be able to choose books to take home and enjoy.

BOOK COLLECTION: MAY 5-MAY 16

Please donate gently used books that are appropriate for students ECE-5th. Students can donate books in their classrooms or in the library. You can also donate books in the bins at the school entrances.

BOOK SWAP:  MAY 19-22

Students will visit the library where they will have a chance to browse and choose books to take home.

We are counting on our wonderful community to make this event a success!  Please start cleaning out those bookshelves!

Please contact Ms. Rosie in the library with any questions bridget_rosenberg@dpsk12.net.

5) Ridwell Plastic Drive

Teller Elementary is keeping plastic film out of landfills with Ridwell this spring! Our last day of collection of plastic film (zip top bags, grocery bags, bubble wrap, and lots more) is tomorrow Friday April 25th. Hand over your plastic to our student volunteers at the kiss-n-go pane, or drop it at the front desk in our bin.

You can continue to sign up for at-home recycling pickup through May 23rd to help earn pickup of the school’s plastic film for all of the ‘25/’26 school year! We only need 4 more new members to earn this amazing offering!
