1) Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week is May 5-9
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week is May 5-9 and with your support, the PTA has planned a week of goodies and surprises to honor and thank the Staff for everything they do to make Teller so special. 2) Last Day of School- June 3rd, 2025
The last day of school is Tuesday, June 3rd. Please note that it is a half day, and pickup will be at 11:10 AM. Make sure to plan accordingly as there will be no after-school care that day, this included Discovery Link and after school enrichments.
3) 2025–26 Registration Info for Returning Families
We’re excited to welcome your child back to Teller for the 2025–26 school year! Please note there is no early registration this year—online registration will open July 28 and run through August 8 via the Parent Portal.
Make sure to upload any missing documents (birth certificate, proof of address, immunization records) during registration.
After-school care is available through Discovery Link (registration open now), and Fall Enrichment details will be included in our Summer Happenings Newsletter with registration opening in July or August.

4) Get Ready to Walk, Bike & Roll!
It’s time to lace up those sneakers, pump up those bike tires, or put together a carpool for the Annual National Walk, Bike, & Roll (and Carpool) to School Day on May 7, 2025!
Join the Teller Green Team and DPS Earth Rangers and Teller Leadership on the blacktop from 7:15 - 7:40 AM for a morning full of fun! Whether you’re walking, biking, rolling, or carpooling, let’s make this a day to remember! We will have stickers, seed packets, and snacks for those who participate.
The Teller Green Team is working to maintain eco-certification for our school! Participating in Walk, Bike & Roll to School day on May 7th is one way you can help.
Here are several other ways you can help keep Teller Green:

- Support the garden. We need adults to help students working in the garden (every Teller student works with it once per year), as well as maintaining the garden over the summer. Contact Lisa Davis, garden coordinator, at lisa@denverdavis.com if you would like to help.
- Support the pantry. Check out Teller Pantry Friends website for open pantry hours, volunteer and donation opportunities, and events. You can also reach out to contact@tellerpantry.org with questions and for info.
- Support Teller’s Annual Book Swap! Please save your gently used books to donate to our Book Swap in the spring.
- Want to volunteer to keep Teller Green? Contact Sara Singh at ssingh@dpsk12.net

6) Spring Music Performances- Next Week!
If your child participates in one of Mrs. Bartos’s after-school music programs—Beginning Band, Violin, Tiger Voices, or Concert Band—their concerts are scheduled for next week, May 5th through May 8th, on their regular class days.
We invite you to attend and support your child and fellow performers. All concerts will be held in the Auditorium. Door 2 will open at 3:30 p.m., with performances beginning at 4:00 p.m.
7) CSC New Member Applications (Due Tomorrow!)
The Collaborative School Committee (CSC) is currently accepting applications for parent members for the 2025-2026/2026-2027 school years. There are three open positions up for election. If you are interested, you can complete an application form online at the following links:

The application deadline is Friday May 2 at 3:00 pm. If more than three applications are received, an election will be held May 5-9.
The purpose of the CSC is to enhance student achievement, engage the school community, provide strategic direction as stated in the Universal Improvement Plan (UIP), and bring community and parent voice to the table. For more information on CSC, please visit this site.
The CSC is composed of six parents, one PTA representative, no more than five teachers, and one community member. Members commit to a two-year term. The primary role of the CSC is to advise the principal on the school's Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) and budget. Additionally, the CSC provides input on program design changes, school and community engagement, principal evaluation/selection, school schedules and safety and discipline procedures. The committee typically meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 5-7 pm from September to May.

10) Please Donate Books for… Teller Elementary’s Fourth Annual Book Swap!
We are excited to announce Teller’s Fourth Annual Book Swap! Those long days of summer bring time for students to enjoy reading. What is better than “new to you” books to encourage students to read? We will welcome donations of gently loved books that we will organize and display in the library. Every student will be able to choose books to take home and enjoy.

11) Join Us for Field Day – May 14th!
Teller's Field Day is coming up on Wednesday, May 14th, and families are invited to come cheer on the fun! Students will rotate through nine exciting stations during two sessions:

- 3rd–5th Grade: 8:30–10:00 AM
- Kinder–2nd Grade: 12:30–2:00 PM

12) Dungeons & Dragons Summer Program with Mr. Zach
Hello Teller parents! Through his new company, The Questing Table LLC, Mr. Zach will be hosting a Dungeons & Dragons program for the summer here at Teller! All students are welcome—whether they're seasoned adventurers or brand new to the game. The program is designed for 4th and 5th graders, though exceptions can be made for siblings or friends to join, with consent from other participants and their families. There will be two different groups to choose from: one that meets on Tuesdays and one that meets on Thursdays.

13) Summer Adventure Day with Ms. Gras
Overview: Join Ms. Gras for an exciting summer adventure filled with hiking and a visit to a museum! This full day of exploration will be both fun and educational, allowing students to experience nature and learn about fascinating exhibits.
What to Bring:

- Pack a nutritious lunch that can be easily eaten outdoors. Consider including:
- Sandwich or wrap
- Fresh fruits (like apples or bananas)
- Veggies (like carrot sticks or cucumber slices)
- Cheese sticks or yogurt
- Water:
- Bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Aim for at least 1-2 liters of water.
- Snack:
- Pack a healthy snack for the hike, such as:
- Trail mix (nuts, dried fruits, and seeds)
- Granola bars
- Popcorn or rice cakes

14) Friday Night Childcare with Ms. Gras!
We are excited to announce that Ms. Gras will be offering a Hiking/Adventure Camp this summer for several weeks! This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to explore the great outdoors, engage in fun activities, and make new friends.
Camp Details:

- Flexible Sign-Up: You can sign up for individual days or for the entire week!
- Transportation: Ms. Gras will pick up your child in the morning and drop them off at the end of the day.
- Daily Activities: Each day, kids will enjoy hikes and visits to museums or parks. The first hike will take place the day after school lets out!
