Dear Teller Families,
Happy New Year! We hope you had a restful winter break filled with joy and quality time with loved ones. As we step into 2025, we want to express our gratitude for your continued trust and partnership in creating an exceptional learning environment for our students.
As we look ahead to the 2025-2026 school year, we want to share some important updates that reflect our commitment to doing what’s best for our students and families. This year, we’ve seen incredible value in dedicating time to professional development, data-driven instruction, and fostering a positive classroom culture. These efforts have led to significant academic and social-emotional growth for our students. However, we also recognize the challenges that early release Fridays have posed for many families.
In response to your feedback, we will be transitioning back to full-day Fridays starting in the 2025-2026 school year. This change reflects our commitment to balancing what’s best for our students and staff with the needs of our families.
Additionally, there will be a district initiated adjustment to our bell schedule. Starting in August 2025, our new school hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This change is part of the Denver Schools Thrive Initiative, to accommodate transportation needs across the new Central East Denver Enrollment Zone.
We value your feedback and will continue to keep you informed about any updates or changes as we move forward. Thank you for your unwavering support of Teller Elementary and for being an essential part of our community.
Here’s to a successful second semester and an exciting year ahead!
Sincerely,
Sabrina Bates, Principal
Jason Smartt, Assistant Principal
