1. Totally Teller - HUGE THANK YOU!

We are incredibly grateful for your amazing support at Totally Teller. Thanks to your dedication and generosity, we raised an astounding $130,000 for our school! This achievement will make a tremendous impact on our students' education and opportunities. Thank you for coming together to make this event such a success—we couldn't have done it without you.

2. Totally Teller- Last Chance Auction!

Attention Teller: There is still time to fly yourself to the moon, swing among the stars, and support Teller in the Last Chance Auction. There is a sampling below, and be sure to check out all of the items at onecau.se/teller. The auction ends at noon on Saturday, November 16th.

3. Enrollment Zone Community Letters

Over the past two days, I have shared information about school closures and enrollment zones. If you have not had a chance to read the letters, here they are. 

4. Rescheduled Pep Rally

Please note that the Teller pep rally, originally scheduled for November 18th, has been canceled. Our next pep rally will take place on Monday, December 16th.  As usual, the event will take place in the gym from 8:25 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. 

Please encourage your students to go all out repping Teller’s school colors of blue and yellow!

5. Teller’s First Toy Drive - Community Give Back

Teller is excited to kick off our first annual Toy Drive, running from Thursday, November 21st through Monday, December 16th. We will be collecting gently used or like-new toys to brighten the holiday season for children in need. 

Donations can be dropped off in the designated collection boxes located in the Main Office or in the cafeteria on Thanksgiving Lunch day.

All donations will be going to the Denver Santa Claus Shop located at 2500 East 1st Avenue, Denver, 80206.

Your kindness will help bring smiles to children in our community, and we truly appreciate your support in making this holiday season a little brighter for those in need.

6. Teller’s Annual Scholastic Book Fair  

Teller’s Book Fair will be here from November 18th until November 22nd. Family Day is Thursday, November 21st.  Here is the link  to our homepage.

IN-PERSON SHOPPING

Students and families can shop with cash, credit/debit card or a Scholastic eWallet. Please note: Unused eWallet funds automatically convert to an eGift card balance that can be used to shop Scholastic online or to fund an eWallet for a future fair.

ONLINE SHOPPING (During the Book Fair)

During the Book Fair, families can connect through a link on Teller’s Book Fair homepage to shop online in The Scholastic Store. During the Book Fair, Teller earns 25% of every online purchase in Scholastic Dollars.

As we gear up for the Book Fair, we encourage you to chat with your students about what makes a good purchase. This will help them focus on books and educational items, avoiding any frustration later on from unexpected toy buys.

SUPPORT CLASSROOM LIBRARIES!!

Contribute to teacher eWallets and look for Teacher Wish Bins at the Book Fair to help teachers fill their classroom libraries with great selections for our students!

BOOK FAIR SCHEDULE:

Monday, November 18th through Wednesday, November 20th:  

    • Students will visit the Book Fair with their classes.  Individual teachers will let families know when their classes are scheduled.

Thursday, November 21st

    • 9:00am-3:30pm: Family Day  --> Come in to browse and shop before or after joining your student for Thanksgiving lunch.

Friday, November 22nd:

    • 8:30am-2:00pm:  Book Fair Open

7. Upcoming Dine Out Nights

Chipotle at 745 Colorado Blvd

Tuesday November 19th 5pm-9pm

Chipotle will donate 25% back to Teller when using code 9RXWQWW online or show the attached flyer in person! Must go to the Chipotle on Colorado and 7th! 

8. Thanksgiving Lunch

Teller’s Annual Thanksgiving Lunch is next week on Thursday, November 21st! Please familiarize yourself with the dates, location, and times for each grade level.

PRE PURCHASED TICKETS: 

If you purchased tickets on MySchoolBucks, you will enter through DOOR 5 (please see attached image). Families will check in with a Teller staff member, all you need is your name and you will receive a stamp and then join the food line. We urge families to grab their lunch then choose a place to sit so that their student can join them there. Each grade is designated a space to eat (see graphic above) and tables will be identified with teacher names, please sit accordingly. 

UNPAID Families: 

If you DID NOT purchase tickets on MySchoolBucks, we will have two points of entry depending on grades. 

      • 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd grade families will enter through Door 8
      • ECE, KG, and 1st will enter through Door 7

You will receive an “X” or stamp on your hand and will be directed to the cafeteria or gym depending on where your student’s class will be. Tables will be identified with teacher names, please sit accordingly. Friendly reminder that there is no option to purchase tickets or receive food. 

Please note the following: 

    1. If you plan to take your student(s) home early, you MUST sign them out with Ms. Nicole at the front desk
    2. Students must attend their own lunch. Meaning that, siblings will not be able to come down to join one another if their lunch is not at that time. All students eat at the time that their grade level class
    3. Vegetarian options are available
    4. There are 2 separate entrances for lunch. Non paid enter through DOOR 7  or DOOR 8 (depending on grades) and paid enter through DOOR 5
    5. There are no last minute purchases online or with cash. We required families to pre-purchase tickets to ensure we ordered enough and did not order too much. If you did not order food by purchasing a ticket, you will not have a meal provided by Teller
    6. After eating and on the way out to the playground, please stop and check the LOST AND FOUND. It is bursting with clothes wishing to make it home!
    7. If you would like to shop at the Book Fair, you MUST do this during your student’s recess time, please see those times above. The library will be open for the book fair from 9am until 2:45pm. 
    8. On this day, there are no pullout services for Math, Literacy, or GT

9. Enrichment Fall Makeups- Next Week!

Below is the list of classes that have scheduled makeup classes next week ( 11/18-11/22), these classes will take place in their regular classrooms:

If your student doesn’t have a makeup class and isn’t registered for DL, please come pick them up at 2:40pm from their classroom teacher. 

10. Winter Session Start 12/2

All Winer enrichments will start on Monday, December 2nd. Family/parent confirmation emails will be sent out Friday morning! If you haven’t received a confirmation email by 10am on Friday and believe you have a student registered for an enrichment class, please email cheryl_ruiz@dpsk12.net asap!

11. A Message from Ms. Gras in ECE

Ms. Gras has baby Japanese Black Pine Trees. If you would like one for your home, please reach out to her and she will send one home with your child or stop by the ECE Playground after school. Here is her email: mgras@dpsk12.net

12. Teller Middle School Night

Teller Elementary is excited to invite families to our Middle School Night on Tuesday, December 3rd, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

This is a great opportunity to connect with representatives from several local middle schools, including:

    • Manual
    • GALS
    • McAuliffe
    • The International School of Denver
    • Lake Middle School
    • St. John’s School
    • DSST: Cedar Middle School
    • Montessori Academy of Colorado
    • Stanley British Primary School
    • Colorado Academy
    • Aspen Academy

At the event, you'll have the chance to ask questions, learn about each school’s curriculum, extracurricular activities, sports programs, and unique offerings. It’s designed to help families navigate the transition to middle school and feel confident about the options available. Whether you're interested in academics, after-school programs, or special focus areas, this evening will provide valuable insights. We look forward to seeing you there!

13. Teller Talent Show Audition Sign Up!

We’re so excited to announce the annual Teller Talent Show will be on Friday, January 10th! 

Auditions will be held on:

    • Monday, December 16th (3:00pm-4:00pm)-10 spots only
    • Monday, December 16th (4:00pm-5:00pm)-10 spots only
    • Tuesday, December 17th (3:00pm-4:00pm)-10 spots only
    • Tuesday, December 17th (4:00pm-5:00pm)-10 spots only
    • Thursday, December 19th (3:00pm-4:30pm)-15 spots only

Here is the form to sign up for an audition spot.

To sign up, complete the form by Tuesday, December 10. Audition blocks are limited to 10-15 spots, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The final rehearsal will take place on Thursday, January 9 after school until 5:00 pm and the talent show performance will be on Friday, January 10 from 3:30-5:00 pm.

14. Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving  Break is Monday, November 25th through Friday, November 28th. Teller will be closed on these dates. We will see all students return to Teller on Monday, December 2nd. 

Discovery Link will be holding camps at Bromwell Elementary on November 25th and 26th. If you have access to Discovery Link and would like to register your child, read instructions below:

How to Register for a Break Camp Day:

      • Log in to the SchoolCare Works connect portal
      • Select the teal “Registration” tile
      • Click to View Offerings under 2024-2025 Break Camps
      • Select the teal Enroll button for the break camp(s) you would like your student(s) to attend
