1. One School, One Vaccine:
Due to weather, the One School, One Vaccine at a Time clinic at Teller Elementary on November 8th at 1:00 PM- 5:30 P.M. has been canceled. We are working to have this day rescheduled. In the meantime, we encourage families to visit my.primary.health/family_registrations/cdphe to find upcoming mobile public health clinics. You can also visit cdphe.colorado.gov/get-vaccinated or vaccines.gov to find an alternative vaccine provider.
2. Snow Day, Delayed Start, and Inside Recess:
With snow days already here, we wanted to touch base with you all about what will occur in the event of a 2 hour delay and if inside recess is called.
If it is actively raining, snowing, or below 20 degrees Fahrenheit we will call an inside recess day. This means that KG-5th grade students will be inside the library for recess and they will be watching a movie. In the event it stops raining, snowing, or the temp rises above 20 degrees Fahrenheit AND the blacktop, playground, and turf are safe then all recesses will resume outside. All ECE students will return to their classrooms for free centers and Go Noodle.
If the district calls for a 2 hour delay, school will start at 9:40am instead of 7:40am. All transportation services, for pickup and drop off, will also be delayed by 2 hours. For example, if they are usually at 7:15am they will be at 9:15am.
As a reminder, on late start days we will not serve breakfast as lunch will start at 10:05am.
We will send communication via our Reachwell app as soon as we are notified.
How to stay informed about district Snow Days:
To be notified of delayed starts and snow days before heading out the door, follow this guide to make sure your phone number is listed correctly in Infor HR. We will send a text message to the phone number you have listed inInfor HR., and an email to your DPS email address in case of a delayed start or snow day.
Previously opted out of text messages? Text Y or Yes to 67587 to receive text messages again. If you would like to opt-out, reply to a district text with N, No, or Stop.
You can also check dpsk12.org and district social media channels (Facebook, X and Instagram) for information about delays and closures.
If your student is enrolled in Discovery Link, the Department of Extended Learning and Community Schools will reach out to families regarding the program's status.
For students in afterschool enrichment programs, Cheryl Ruiz will inform families about any canceled classes and plans for rescheduling or refunding.
