Teller Elementary School

Norovirus Illness Alert for Parents- Read ASAP

11/06/23, 11:47 AM

Hello Teller Families,

Please see the attached document from the document from Denver's Department of Public Health and Environment.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that Teller Elementary School has been experiencing an increased number of children and/or staff that have become ill with norovirus. Other names for this type of illness are “the stomach flu”, GI (gastrointestinal) Illness, and viral gastroenteritis. People who live in the same home or share a common space like a classroom are much more likely to contract norovirus from each other. Good hand washing and staying home if you or your child is sick is the best way to prevent further illness. Currently there is no vaccine for norovirus.

Please reach out if you have any questions,

Best,

Sabrina Bates, Principal

Jason Smartt, Assistant Principal

Cheryl Ruiz, Dean of Operations
