Dear Dora Moore Community,

It is our priority to keep you informed of events regarding student safety. Today, we received information about a student posting pictures on Snapchat of a gun. Our Department of Safety team and Denver Police were alerted about the situation immediately.

The incident is still under investigation.

All students and staff are safe. We would like to assure you that the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority at Dora Moore. Our school works closely with the Department of Safety and Denver police to look into all safety incidents that occur at our school, anything suspicious that may occur in the neighborhood, or online.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind our community about what resources are available for anyone who suspects danger to themselves or others. If you or your student hears of a threat made against another student or the school, we want them to report it immediately to a trusted adult, Safe2Tell at 877-542-7233, online at https://safe2tell.org, or the Denver police non-emergency number at 720-913-2000.

Families, it is imperative that you actively continue to monitor your child’s social media and report any suspicious activity to the outlets mentioned above or to the school directly.

We thank you for your support in helping us to keep our school a safe place of learning for our students. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Abram Janson

Principal
