September Assessment Binders

Hello Families,

We hope you had a great long weekend with your students. Teachers have been hard at work here learning, planning, and getting ready for high quality instruction and experiences for our students. Tomorrow, your child will be coming home with their first monthly assessment binder. This binder will contain key information about what your child has been learning and about their academic progress. Please plan on taking time to look through the binder with your child and ask them questions about what they have been learning. Here are some suggested questions:

What were you most proud of on this task/assignment?
What is something that still feels tricky for you in the subject?
What has been most exciting to you in your learning so far this year?
What strategies do you have when you get stuck or when something feels hard?
What can I work on more with you at home?

Please sign and return the binders to your child's teachers by Friday, October 4th, and indicate any questions you have on the signature page. You will also be receiving information about fall conferences (October 7th - 9th), where teachers can follow up more in detail with your questions.
