Dear Dora Moore Families, 

 

We hope you had a restful break.

 

Unfortunately, we have some very sad news to share with you. Sterling (4th) and Michonne (5th) Mike's mother, Shianna, passed away on Saturday.

A loss like this is felt deeply, and our thoughts are with their family during this sad and difficult time. Shianna and the kids have been at Dora Moore since Kindergarten and were deeply connected with the Warren Village community for many years. We understand that this news may be upsetting for some families and students. Our school mental health team are available to provide assistance to students and families who may need someone to talk to.  

 

Many staff and families have already reached out asking how they might be able to help. We have been working with the family over the weekend and we will share more details regarding how our community can tangibly support the family and the children soon.
