We hope you had a great weekend. We have 5 full days of instruction until Thanksgiving Break. Despite all the distractions going on in the world and the district, we will do our best to stay focused on consistency for our students each and every day.

We hope you can join us for Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday! Details and a schedule for this event were sent out on Friday and are also available below in this message.

Join the Superintendent Engagement Session at Dora Moore: Wednesday at 7:30am - 9:30am

Dear Dora Moore community,

As part of the Denver Schools Thrive Initiative, and using direction from Executive Limitation 18 (EL-18), our school has been recommended by the superintendent as a school that could experience a programming change; changing from an ECE-8th grade school to an ECE-5th grade elementary school starting in the 2025-2026 school year. While our school is identified as potentially impacted, there has been no final decision made at this time.

Prior to the Board’s decision, the Superintendent will hold an engagement meeting at Dora Moore to share information about why our school was part of his recommendation, how this impacts our community and what support we can expect from the district in the transition.

I would like to invite you to join this meeting to get your questions answered by the Superintendent and the Transition Team, which includes staff from HR, Choice & Enrollment, FACE, the Employee Assistance Program, Transportation, Multilingual Education and Special Education.

Date: Wednesday, November 20th
Time: 7:30am - 9:30am
Location: Dora Moore Auditorium

This session will be limited to only our school’s students, staff, families and community. Childcare and interpretation services will be provided.

Thanksgiving Lunch Schedule and Details--All Families Are Invited; RSVP Required

We are hosting our annual Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday, November 21st during each grade-level's scheduled lunch. Please note, most lunch times have been adjusted slightly to make room for the extra time required to serve students and family members!

ECE 11:00am - 11:30am
Kinder 11:15am - 11:45am
4th/5th 11:50am - 12:20pm
3rd 12:10pm - 12:35pm
1st/2nd 12:35pm - 1:00pm
6th-7th 1:00pm - 1:20pm
- Unfortunately we have a scheduling conflict with 8th Grade--they will not be available for Thanksgiving Lunch as they will be attending the DPS Career Fair from 12:00pm - 2:00pm

As a school, we are happy to provide Thanksgiving Lunch cost-free for all Dora Moore families. Due to space, please only reserve seats for family members you know will be in attendance.

If you are interested in making a donation to support this community event, you can make a donation of $5 per person via this My School Bucks link.

Families are encouraged and invited to eat lunch with their students, but we need to know who is coming!

In order to prepare for serving, the deadline for reserving tickets is the end of the school day on Tuesday, November 19th.
