Dear DM Families!

Welcome to the cool mornings of October. We had a GREAT week!

Thank you to all of those students, families, and staff that were able to join us for the Walk and Roll to School event on Wednesday morning. It was awesome!

On Thursady, we had an incredible 4th and 5th grade author's visit from Amber Mcbride. Each of our students got a signed copy of her new book Onyx & Beyond. If you are interested in supporting her, you can purchase your own copy here

Give Us Our 💐 and Feedback--Take the DPS 'Your Voice/Tu Voz' Survey Opens Monday, Oct. 7

The DPS “Your Voice/Tu Voz” Family Survey opens next week on Monday, Oct. 7 and will close Friday, Nov. 1.

At Dora Moore, we believe we are doing a great job in a lot of areas and we'd like to hear about it. We also know there are many ways that we can continue to improve the student and family experience. Let us know how we are doing as a school by completing the Your Voice/Tu Voz survey. Preview the questions and review the FAQ before the survey officially opens.

Our goal is to receive feedback from at least 50% of our families.

Complete the survey here starting Monday. (You will also get an automated email as well!)

Community Event: East High School Trick-or-Treat Street!

East High School is excited to announce our annual Trick-or-Treat Street event, taking place on October 30th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. This fun, family-friendly event offers children in the neighborhood a safe space to enjoy trick-or-treating and engaging fun activities hosted by East High School's sports teams and clubs.

Action Item: Parents & Guardians to Complete Social & Emotional Screener

As we continue to pursue supporting students to be socially and emotionally well, receiving information about how they are doing is important! All parents and guardians of students in Denver Public Schools are being encouraged to complete a short form to provide input on your child's social emotional well being! You would complete 1 form per student currently enrolled at Dora Moore. Each form will take less than 5 minutes.

  • Step 1. Follow the below link

BESS Parent/Guardian Screening Link or go to tinyurl.com/bessparent

  • Step 2. Enter your child’s DPS ID and then date of birth (MM/DD/YYYY).

  • Step 3. Complete the screening form

Additionally, 3rd - 8th grade students will participate in a self-reporting survey in the next couple weeks during their homeroom periods.

If you want more information, you can view Frequently Asked Questions at (Parent FAQ) or contact our school psychologist Sarah Cherabie (sarah_cherabie@dpsk12.net).
