Dear Dora Moore Community,

 

We are winding down a wonderful year and wanted to take a moment to connect with everyone one last time before summer. We are excited to welcome everyone back in August to start off another great school year as a Dora Moore Eagle!

Mark Your Calendars: Important Upcoming Dates

  • Online “Early-bird” School Registration K-5th Grade: **Now until June 3rd, 2025 for Dora Moore families**

    • Current DPS families – save time by updating your student’s information online! By completing this process using your Parent Portal account, you can avoid paper forms and save time at the school during the fall return. All SchoolChoice applicants must have an accepted seat before registering their student. Select one of the windows available to register your student(s) online for 2025-26:  

    • **New Dora Moore families -- you too can register online! If you are in need of a DPS ID# (new to District and/or ECE) contact Ms. Bianka in our front office @ 720-424-5300

  • Online School Registration K-5th Grade: July 28th - August 18th

    • If you complete the early-bird registration, there is not a need to complete registration again.

  • Dora Moore Main Office OPENS back up for assistance: Monday, August 4, 8:10am - 4:10pm

  • In-Person Registration Support: Thursday, August 7th & Friday, August 8th, 8:10am - 4:00pm

  • Dora Moore Back to School Night / Meet Your Teacher / Popsicles on the Playground Event: Thursday, August 14, 4:00pm - 5:00pm

  • First Day for K-5th Grade: Monday, August 18th, 2025, 9:00am - 4:00pm

  • First Day for ECE: Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, 9:00am - 4:00pm

  • DPS School Calendar: Please see the 25-26 DPS calendar. Dora Moore will finalize our school calendar and send the Dora Moore specific 25-26 calendar later in April.

    • Additional Dora Moore Specific Planning Days (No School for All Students; Make childcare arrangements now!): 10/03/2025, 11/03/2025, 02/13/2026, 05/04/2026   

  • Dora Moore Annual ‘Grill & Chill’ Community BBQ: Friday, September 5th, 4:00pm - 6:15pm

  • Fall Conferences After School: October 14th, 15th, 16th

 

 

2025-2026 Bell Schedule

Start of School Bell: 9:00am

End of School Bell: 4:00pm

 

Breakfast is available free to all students from 8:30am - 9:00am for K-5th (ECE eats breakfast in their classrooms after the 9:00am bell). We are happy to share that we have continued our partnership with Discovery Link to provide before or after school care for all students! See details below for Discovery Link Registration.

 

Complete details regarding breakfast, arrival, and dismissal procedures will be published as we get closer to the start of school.

 

Planning to Ride a DPS School Bus to Dora Moore? 

All families interested in having their student ride DPS transportation to and/or home from school must fill out an Exception Request form each year. Eligibility for transportation does not carry over year to year.

Please know that students are only provided transportation if they live within our enrollment zone. Furthermore, our DPS bus only makes five stops within our boundary and families wishing to ride the bus must be able to access these safe locations at the correct arrival and departure times to participate in transportation.

 

Discovery Link Registration

Dora Moore provides fee-based before and after-school care for ALL students ECE-8th grade through our Discovery Link program. This is unique to our school as most do not provide care for ECE programs--We do! We also provide some scholarship support on a sliding scale and participate in CCAP to support families in accessing extended care opportunities. 

 

Use the Discovery Link Registration for 2025–2026 resource page to register for before and after-school care for next school year. New DL families will need their student's school ID number to register for Discovery Link. Visit DPS’s Student ID Retrieval tool here to look up your child’s ID number. If you need additional help with your Student ID number, reach out to our secretary, Ms. Bianka, at 720-424-5300!

 

Class Lists & Teacher Assignments

Students and families often want to know which class they will be in--we totally get it! However, due to Round 2 School Choice ebbing and flowing throughout the summer it is our policy to not publish class lists until the second week of August after we have a much firmer understanding of our enrollment numbers. Our goal is always to create balanced and equitable classrooms to support each student’s success. Look for an email from us in the second week of August with more details as we get closer to the start of the school year!

 

Though we do not take family requests for class placements, we do carefully consider the needs of each classroom and reserve the right to make changes as needed.

 

Kindergarten note: In an effort to balance both kinder classrooms to provide optimal learning (and fun!), we will be keeping our class lists flexible during the first week. As Mrs. Ott and Mrs. Schafer get to know each student, observing their strengths and needs, they will decide if any switches need to take place in order to create two balanced classroom communities. Parents/guardians will be notified if their student will be switching classrooms by Friday, August 22nd. Thank-you for your flexibility! 

 

We are so thankful for this wonderful and supportive community and we are acutely aware that our success so far is a direct result of the amazing and incomparably incredible staff we have assembled here.
