Spread the Word: School Tours Start Next Week!

We are thrilled to welcome prospective families to Dora Moore! To provide you with an opportunity to get to know our school better, we are excited to offer school tours before the School Choice window opens for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • We will be hosting in-person school tours most Fridays of November, December, and January at 9:15 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.

We highly encourage you to get to know us through one of our in-person opportunities to visit. All prospective families will have the opportunity to hear directly from myself and/or our assistant principal Jillian Watson, tour the building, and ask questions. Children and prospective students are encouraged to attend all school tours and events.
If you have any questions about School Choice and its impact on neighborhood schools, feel free to me at abram_janson@dpsk12.net!

Please share this information as well as this link with neighbors and prospective families! https://moore.dpsk12.org/future-families/

Dora Moore's Inclement Weather Policy

With the weather turning cold, we wanted to send some reminders of our policies.

Inclement Weather

  • We define inclement weather as temperatures below 20 degrees and/or active rain/snow/precipitation.
    • If it is not snowing and above 20 degrees, we will follow our normal procedures and all students will be outside for recess during the school day.
    • If your student is in need of warm winter jackets, hats, gloves we can help! Please email Joshua_konz@dpsk12.net for assistance!

Morning Drop-off During Inclement Weather

  • Students are allowed in the cafeteria/gym from 8:30 - 8:55

    • K-4 students sit at grade level tables in the cafeteria to eat breakfast

    • 5-8 students eat breakfast in the cafeteria at the designated middle school table. Once students are done eating, students will be dismissed to the gym.

  • Students from breakfast will not be allowed outside. Students will be released directly to their classrooms at 8:55am.

    • K students are walked by kinder paras and are handed off to teacher

  • Exterior school doors will open 10 minutes earlier than normal (8:50am instead of 9:00am) to get students off the playground quickly. Students will report directly to their classrooms where their teachers will meet them.
