10Four Youth Center (2102 N. Marion St.) - Now Open!

10Four is a non-profit youth center in Denver, Colorado. Our mission is to provide a safe and fun place for underserved youth ages 7-18 to reach their full potential. Our youth center is free to attend and open after school and during the summer. Children ages 7-18 years old may attend 10Four at no cost after completing the registration process. Our goal is to broaden the perceived realm of possibility of our inner-city youth through experience, guidance and support.  We work to support and guide our underprivileged youth as they pursue their passions and life aspirations.

Fill Out the PTSA Survey Today!

Win a $50 King Soopers Gift Card by filling out the PTSA Survey!

What is a PTSA?
Parent Teacher Student Associations are primarily advocacy-based organizations that bring school communities together in order to address the needs of all children, families, and educators.

Why do we need a survey?
As an association of Dora Moore parents, teachers, and students, we want to ensure we are hearing from the most families possible. This survey will help us align our efforts with our collective interests and form an even stronger Dora Moore community!

Take 5 minutes to fill out the short PTSA Survey today and we will announce the winner at our October PTSA meeting!

When Life Gives You Apples, Make Apple Juice!

We are always committed to bringing back the fun and joy of schooling! On Friday, a few middle school parents organized an opportunity to harvest the apples off our own apple trees. They collaborated with "Farmer Frank" from the community and pressed the apples into juice right on site! Our students loved it!

Why is mental health screening important?

  • systematic and unbiased way to identify students who might be in need of some support

  • provide early(ier) interventions
  • social and emotional wellness and education helps kids regulate and relate so they can reason and learn

  • it is also required per the district’s long term safety and action plan

Dora Moore Student Handbook - Revised!

We have revised our Dora Moore Student Handbook.

In service of our Dora Moore mission to nurture kind and curious learners that are future ready, we want to be clear about our policies so that our classrooms remain a place where students can focus solely on academic pursuits. We want to create an environment dedicated to mutual respect and courtesy.

This short document codifies our basic policies for our most frequent aspects of our school:

Arrival, Breakfast, and Dismissal 1

Attendance 2

Behavior & Discipline 3

Cell Phones and Electronics 4

Dress Code 4

Toy/Items from Home Policy 5

Safe2Tell 5

Student Health 5

Student Safety 6

October 4th - Walk and Roll to School Day!

Dora Moore Community Exchange Store - “Finding ways to support our Community one opportunity at a time.”

What is it?

  • We converted an old classroom connected to our lunchroom into a community space that supports the Dora Moore community with lightly used clothing donations including: tops and bottoms in all sizes from ECE to adult, winter hats and gloves, jackets, shoes, and more. We also have a revolving menu of nonperishable food items donated regularly by the Food Bank of the Rockies.

Who can use it?

  • Anyone who is connected to the Dora Moore community is welcome to use the store anytime they need it. We know life can get tough, and expensive, so this is a way for us to support members of our community and help lighten the load for families in a way that ultimately supports our students. We wanna help, and this is one small way we have found to be able to do it.

How can I use it?

  • Easy. You can call the main office line to talk with Ms. Patty (720-424-5300) any day of the week and arrange for food to be sent home with your student. Please know these are often heavy, and difficult for small children to carry. This is typically done on Fridays so food can be for the weekend, but can be done any other day as well.  You can also stop by the main office near the start or the end of the school day, and we will find someone to help you get what you need.

October Count - Student Attendance Is Important!

The official 'October Count' date for the 23/24 school year is October 2nd. It is imperative that we have all students in attendance on this date, even if it is for a few hours.

From September 25th to October 9th, please ensure you are diligent with your attendance calls. If you are planning to be out of town during that the entirety of that window, please contact patricia_celaya@dpsk12.net!

Girls On The Run Needs You!

Dora Moore's Girls on the Run team needs your help! They are running a practice 5k on October 30th at Cheeseman Park. If you are interested in helping and supporting the event, please email danielle_zuroweste@dpsk12.net!
