Updated Health Guidance for Illness

Hi Families!

 

We have some updated guidance from CDPHE regarding the significant increase in respiratory illness. Children's Hospital is currently full and the healthcare system is maxed across the city. We are sending home children every day with new respiratory illness symptoms. 

Please read the attached guidance we received on Tuesday. Most notably:

"72-hour exclusion from onset of symptoms for children and staff with new respiratory illness (note: this is a change from current guidance as those with RSV infection may not have fever)."

 

We know this can be very disruptive to individual families and work schedules, however, we need to follow this guidance in support of reducing the spread to more students and potentially further taxing the healthcare systems. Sick children do not belong at school.
