First CSC and PTSA Meetings of the Year - September 14th

Please join us for our first two CSC and PTSA meetings of the year! This wonderful school doesn't run itself, but is deeply dependent on committed members of our community that lend their time, voice, and talents. Childcare and pizza are provided for both of these meetings each month.

Collaborative School Committee (CSC) - 2nd Wednesday of the Month @ 5:00pm in DM Tech Lab

The CSC brings together families, staff and community members to create and implement a plan to promote high achievement within a school. Colorado law requires all schools to have a CSC, also referred to as a School Accountability Committees (SAC), to increase the amount of accountability and family
involvement in our schools.

Chiefly, it provides strategic direction in support of the school’s mission and vision as stated in the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) in programming and budgetary resources/decisions.

In order to have a functioning CSC, we need at least 7 members: 1 Principal (or designee) • 3 Parents • 1 Teacher • 1 Community or business member • 1 School-recognized organization

  • We need at least three parent representatives to nominate themselves to join the CSC.
    • Should we get more than three nominations, we are required to open up a vote.
  • We need one community or business member.

Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) - 2nd Wednesday of the Month @ 6:00pm in DM Tech Lab

The Dora Moore PTSA listens to the community’s concerns, and provide a voice for the parents, teachers, and students. They also sponsor events and fundraise to support the school. They sponsor, organize, and fund community events including, but not limited to, enrichment programming, Dia de los Muertos, Grill and Chill Community BBQs, teacher grants, and classroom support for necessary supplies. The PTSA is a vital part of our community that seeks to create a welcoming environment and engage all groups within our community that reflect the diversity, energy, and spirit of Dora Moore.

  • We need at least AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE to join the meetings! Joining is not about resources, but about lending your voice, talents, and perspectives!

A Note from Abe...

Historically, committees like a CSC and groups such as the PTSA do not have proportional representation and attendance that reflects the true beauty and diversity of the school community. This is true for Dora Moore currently, and it's something we are working to change.

Please consider joining us as we build the new Dora Moore! We need all voices at the table as continue to design a school that works for all students, not just some.

We have some great momentum and can't wait to capitalize on this!

Grill and Chill Community BBQ is Coming! Sept. 16th

We are so excited to get our entire school community together to hang out! Please mark you calendars to attend directly after school at 4:00pm!

Dinner is free to everyone and anyone! Kona Ice will be on the playground for families to purchase on their own if they would like. This is a community event, so invite your friends!

Family supervision of all children is required. DM staff will not be 'on-duty' during this event and all families are still expected to pick-up/sign-out students at 3:50pm from teachers.

We need two things from you to pull this event off:

  1. Sign-up here to Donate Food and/or Volunteer!
  2. RSVP for your family here
    1. RSVPs are not required, but help us to have rough estimate of how many people are attending!

Does Your Family Need Support?

We have a new support team here at DM and the district has put together a  new program to provide free community and in-home support to families on a voluntary basis!  Our team exists to support your students and families. If you are in need of support or resources, please contact Mr. Konz (social worker) and Mrs. Cherabie (school psychologist). They can assist you in getting connected and referred!
