ACTION NEEDED: Lunch Accounts Charged

Hi DM Families! This is an important reminder about lunch money accounts and balances! Please read!
As previously communicated, lunch is no longer covered and free for every student!
1. Many families have not put money on their student's account and/or not applied for meal benefits for free or reduced priced lunches--THEREFORE, many students have been charging a negative lunch balance this week. All families are held accountable for paying any charged meals and negative balances.
- The school will not cover negative balances for students as it is each family's responsibility to apply for meal benefits and/or to put money on their student's account.
- Students who have a negative balance will receive a paper copy of the negative balance in their backpack tomorrow.
- Negative balances can be paid on www.myschoolbucks.com or in-person with Ms. Amalia, our cafeteria manager.
2. In order to apply for meal benefits for the 2022-2023 school year, fill out an application at this link: https://www.myschoolapps.com/
3. Money can be added to student accounts (and negative balances paid) using www.MySchoolBucks.com. Families will need each student’s DPS ID number to create a MySchoolBucks account. If you do not know this number, you can call or email Patty Celaya at 720-424-5300.
4. Pricing for Lunch

Elementary lunches: $2.60
-
Middle School lunches: $2.75
- Milk Only: $0.50
5. Second Lunches/Servings
- Students can purchase a second lunch as long as they have money on their account. It is the families responsibility to have these conversations with their students about whether they would like them to be able to purchase a second lunch or not. Second lunches are not able to be charged into a negative balance.
- If a student qualifies for free or reduced priced lunches, though the first lunch is covered the student can only receive a second lunch if it is purchased with money on the student's account. Second lunches are not able to be charged into a negative balance.
