Consider adopting one of Ms. Liz Harkness's cats

01/10/24, 4:11 PM

Good afternoon Denison Montessori community.

Our community tragically lost Miss Liz Harkness in December. Liz left behind her two beloved cats Bailey and Izzy. Having no next of kin in state, Primary teacher Mary Murphy took custody of them from a kill shelter in December and has been fostering them ever since. They are currently doing wonderfully and have received veterinarian care has been since Mary started fostering them. Mary already has 2 resident cats in her house otherwise she would keep both of them. Unfortunately, she just can't do that. She is hoping to find them a new home as soon as possible.

Please read the adoption information on Bailey and Izzy below and let Mary know if you are interested in giving them a loving home. Izzy needs a little more time before adoption as it seems that the two will thrive without each other. They are not a bonded pair even though they went through this tragedy together.

Hello everyone. My name is Bailey. I am an indoor, female spayed, 9 year old long haired beauty who suddenly lost her owner (Miss Liz) in December. I was rescued from a kill shelter by a fellow teacher (Miss Mary). I have been fostered back to health since this tragedy and have opened up to be a loving, affectionate, and calm pet. I have been through a lot lately such as having to be groomed professionally due to matting on my fur and had all sorts of tests and shots done to make sure I am in good health to be adopted. I have a clean bill of health with 0 medical issues and updated shots.I am looking for my fur-ever home here in Denver. I could use a quiet environment due to my age and what I have been through, but I have lived most of my life with other cats. I can warm up to other animals if introduced properly. I like to sleep a lot in my adulthood, I enjoy looking out the windows, scratching on scratch pads, indulging myself in cat treats and I absolutely love to snuggle with humans. My foster parents would love to keep me but they already have two resident cats. Please consider adopting me. I am ready to settle down into my forever home. My adoption costs $0 and I come with grooming gloves, food, treats, toys, beds, and a cat tower depending on your needs. I will not need any vet attention for one year. Please email mary_murphy@dpsk12.net if interested or you know of anyone who is interested.

Hello. My name is Izzy. I was rescued from a kill shelter when my owner suddenly passed away. I am a tiger striped female spayed tabby cat who is 3 years old. I am extremely sweet once you get to know me and we establish trust. I absolutely love to play with toys, chase fake mice around the house, and I love to play with pipe cleaners and strings. I have lived with other cats but have been through a lot lately so it may be best if I am in a single cat home for a while or I need someone to take the time and effort to introduce me to my new friends properly. I scratch on scratch pads, love chin and ear scratches and have so much love to give. I could use a nice family who will play with me, love me and pet me. I cost $0 and I come with toys, a bed, a tower (if needed), food, litter, treats. My foster parents wish they could keep me but they already have 2 resident cats. Please email mary_murphy@dpsk12.net if interested in adopting me.
