Good afternoon, Denison Montessori. Please read the following letter from Ms. Jennifer Lowell, who has decided to retire at the end of this semester. Our community will miss her dearly and we wish her all the best as she enters her well earned retirement!
Dearest Denison Community,
It is with bittersweetness that I announce my retirement from 25 years of teaching with Denver Public Schools. My last teaching day will be Friday, December 20th. Denison has been the last chapter of a life-long teaching career and one that I will always cherish.
It has been a privilege to have worked alongside so many talented teachers and paras who keep the Montessori tenets first and foremost and believe me when I say, I hold you in the highest esteem. Despite not being Montessori trained myself, I am definitely Montessori like-minded and you have my heartfelt thanks for sharing your knowledge, grace and courtesy. Parents must also know how grateful I am for all of your support during my time in this community. Denison holds a special place in my heart.
I came here to teach English as a Second language and have been honored and delighted to work with so many students that come from such diverse, beautiful home cultures.
As a cherry on the top of my career, during these last seven years I have been very fortunate to work with all of the children from Kindergarten through Sixth grade as their Visual Arts teacher. It is indeed a particularly inspirational area to teach, bearing witness to the creativity of the child, a place of continual delight and tenderness. I have felt a huge joy teaching and learning here at Denison.
It will be hard for me not to see everyone daily and I see myself returning and visiting when possible! Until then, to the precious children, remember to Follow the Rose and play outside as often as you are able! I wish everyone the best!
In gratitude,
Jennifer
Additionally, even though Mr. Doug Jackson has only been with us for a short time, he will also be retiring at the end of this semester. We wish Mr. DJ well as he begins his retirement!
