Good evening, Denison Montessori community. Thank you for your time and support with last week’s Fun Run, sponsored by Families of Denison Montessori! We truly appreciate the fund raising support and all the cheering you provided for our community.

As we move into the last full week of September, we are getting ready for picture days on Tuesday and Wednesday. Your child’s teacher should have shared information about the day and time for their class. The Lifetouch forms are attached to the end of this message. Please also note that Friday, September 27th, is a professional learning day for our staff, so there is no school for students. Have a wonderful week!

On Wednesday, September 25th, Denison’s first English Language Acquisition - Parent Advisory Council (ELA-PAC) meeting will take place at 3:45 at the Pavillion near the field. This meeting is open to all community members but focuses on issues related to students who speak a language other than English at home. Topics covered in the September meeting include ACCESS testing, a parent survey, FDM, and the DPS Advisory Council. We hope to see you there!
October is right around the corner! That means all Denver Public Schools have Colorado Count Day on October 1st. This is the official date that the state looks at our attendance to fund DPS. Please be sure your child is at school on this date unless they are sick enough to stay home. We appreciate your help!
During the 2024-2025 school year, Denison Montessori will continue the practice of acknowledging our students who have 95% or higher attendance each month. Regular, daily attendance is critical to helping our students learn and grow! For the month of September, students who have an attendance rate of 95% or higher will earn Colorado Rapids tickets for one of the team’s remaining home games in early October. In response to supporting the needs of the whole community, DPS is partnering with Care Solace to provide access to social services for students and families. In addition to mental health care and substance use treatment coordination services, Care Solace can connect DPS families and staff to food assistance, shelter support and community health services.
