Good evening, Denison Montessori community. It’s looking like spring weather is back this week, which our educators always appreciate as we hit the final stretch of the school year. It’s another busy week here at Denison, with Volunteer Appreciation Week, the last week of CMAS testing, Earth Day, after school enrichment classes, a visit from Denver Public Library’s Bookmobile, the dress rehearsal for the Denison’s Got Talent talent show, and Coffee with the Principal. That doesn’t even include all of the lessons and learning that is taking place in the classrooms!

Help your student finish the year with strong attendance! Check your child’s attendance percentage in the Parent Portal to ensure they will have at least 93% attendance for the school year. We have 20% of the school year remaining. Regular attendance not only supports your child’s academic learning, it also promotes social connections and participation in all the exciting year end events. If you can support your child in attending every day, you will see a noticeable increase in their attendance rate for the year. Thanks for your support in getting your child to school on time every day!
If your family is moving or you are not planning for your child to return to Denison next year, please contact the main office to confirm your child’s transfer to another school. This helps us plan for the 2025-2026 school year. We appreciate your assistance with this request.
Families, the state of Colorado’s updated Child Passenger Safety Law went into effect in January. The law now states that parents and caregivers are responsible for properly restraining a child in all vehicles. and will be ticketed if they fail to do so. Please check out this page on the state’s website for more information.
As summertime approaches, we want to ensure as many families as possible have access to baby gear and diapers before supplies become more limited during the summer months. Please see the attached fliers for DPS’s Mini Market and Baby Gear market, as they both open April 20th at the Community Hub located at Johnson Elementary School.

Reminders

Monday, May 5th, is the last professional learning and planning day for our Primary teachers only. As a result, there is no school for ECE3, ECE4, and kindergarten students on this date. All 1st-6th grade students WILL have class on this date.
Denison Montessori is partnering with the Colorado Rockies to offer discounted tickets and parking passes for the May 10th game versus the San Diego Padres. Help Denison raise money for our school while attending a Rockies game at a discounted price! Email Jessica Jeong, jessica_jeong@dpsk12.net, to place your order.
Spiritwear is now available for purchase through the Denison school store. Please see the attached flier for the website or qr code to order new t-shirts and sweatshirts. Spring individual and class picture days are scheduled for Tuesday, April 29 and Wednesday, April 30. Please check with your child’s teacher to confirm the day and time for pictures. Orders can be placed online at MyLifetouch.com. For Individual Spring Pictures, please use Event Code EVT37ZSGV. For Class Pictures, use Event Code EVT24JDCN. The event codes will remain active through March 23rd. If you miss the deadline, you can still place an order once your child receives their proof. The proof will include a unique access code and portrait ID # to complete your order.
