Good evening, Denison Community! It was great connecting with so many of you last week during registration! If you weren’t able to make it in, please come to school between 8:00 and 3:30 this week to ensure your child has registration paperwork completed in order to attend the first day of school. If you have any questions, please call Denison secretary Alice Cothran at 720-424-8080.

We welcome the teachers back to school Monday morning and will be working hard to get everything ready for the 1st-6th graders on August 19th. We will look forward to having our kindergarten and preschool students join us later in August and September. Please see the “Mark Your Calendar” section below for the dates.

If you are new to the Denison community, please know that finding parking around our school is a regular challenge! Please be sure you don’t park on Jewell, watch for street sweeping signs, and please do not block the driveways of our neighbors. We appreciate your cooperation!
Denison Montessori is excited to announce the return of after school enrichment programs that are available to all of our students. Please read the DENISON FALL ENRICHMENT BROCHURE 24 to see if there is a course that interests your child. Scholarships are available, please see the link at the bottom of the introduction page for information on how to apply. Please e-mail enrichment_extendedlearning@dpsk12.org if you have any questions!
Looking for ways to get involved at Denison Montessori? Our Collaborative School Committee, also called the CSC, is looking for family representatives. This committee engages in strategic planning and decision making for our school and meets regularly once a month after school. During the budget season, which is mid January through early February, more meetings may be required. All parents are invited to join and interpretation and childcare is available if needed. The meetings are open to the public if you want to check it out before deciding. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Ms. Natalie at nfickes@dpsk12.net
All DPS students are entitled to one complete free breakfast and one complete free lunch each day. Both meals are free. Any student requesting a second lunch will be charged accordingly. Additionally, please keep in mind that the fruit and veggie bar is unlimited and free for all students. This means that it is still important to collect a You Benefit! meal applications for all new-to-district students and for any families who may not be receiving social services benefits. If we don’t do this, we may lose the ability to provide free meals to all students. All household income information provided through this form is strictly confidential and protected by law. Only one form is required for all children in the household. Immigration, migrant, citizenship or refugee status is not required when completing the form.
On Wednesday, September 11th, the Southwest Area Plan team will be hosting a community workshop to plan community improvements for the Athmar Park, Mar Lee, Overland, Ruby Hill and Westwood neighborhoods. Denison parent, Janelle Kreutzer, jenellekre@gmail.com, is involved with this work and can answer questions you may have. For more details, please click this link.
