Good evening, Denison Montessori community! I hope your family enjoyed a little bit of down time and maybe even an adventure or two during spring break. It’s hard to believe we are now starting the last part of the school year. Before you know it, we will be enjoying our Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, Field Day, end of year class celebrations, and continuation for our 6th grade students. I hope you are able to find some ways, whether they are small or large, to participate in our community and witness the sense of wonder our children bring into our school every single day. Announcements

Colorado Measures of Academic Success testing, more commonly called CMAS testing, will begin next week on April 8th, when our 3rd-6th grade students will begin completing three days of math assessments. 5th grade science testing takes place April 14-16. 3rd-6th grade students will wrap up testing April 22 - 24 with the literacy assessments. Please note that many areas of the building will be accessible by DPS and Denison staff members only. We appreciate your help in getting students to school on time and rested during testing so they can demonstrate all their learning so far this year!
Every year, parents have the opportunity to complete the Behavioral and Emotional Screening (BESS) that helps us determine how to best support our students’ socio-emotional needs. The window for completing this short screening closes this Friday, April 18th. You can find directions and a QR code for the survey here or at tinyurl.com/bessparent . You will need your student’s ID number to complete this survey. You can look up your child’s ID number through DPS’s Parent Portal. For the spring BESS window, all guardians who complete the BESS Guardian Survey will be entered in a raffle for First Watch gift cards or one of five pairs of Meow Wolf tickets.
Spring individual and class picture days are scheduled for Tuesday, April 29 and Wednesday, April 30. Please check with your child’s teacher to confirm the day and time for pictures. Orders can be placed online at MyLifetouch.com. For Individual Spring Pictures, please use Event Code EVT37ZSGV. For Class Pictures, use Event Code EVT24JDCN. The event codes will remain active through March 23rd. If you miss the deadline, you can still place an order once your child receives their proof. The proof will include a unique access code and portrait ID # to complete your order. Las pruebas de las Medidas de Éxito Académico de Colorado, más conocidas como pruebas CMAS, comenzarán la próxima semana, el 8 de abril, cuando nuestros alumnos de 3.º a 6.º grado comenzarán a completar tres días de evaluaciones de matemáticas. Las pruebas de ciencias de 5.º grado se realizarán del 14 al 16 de abril. Los alumnos de 3.º a 6.º grado finalizarán sus pruebas del 22 al 24 de abril con las evaluaciones de lectoescritura. Tenga en cuenta que muchas áreas del edificio solo serán accesibles para el personal de DPS y Denison.
