Good evening, Denison Montessori community. We are halfway through September and our students are learning and growing each and every day. Please check out the “Mark Your Calendar” section below and try to check out one of the upcoming Dining for Denison events. These nights provide a chance for socializing with other Denison families outside of school and help raise money for our school. Montessori Moment: Montessori classrooms offer materials and learning opportunities that guide the study and exploration of specific aspects of the environment and human culture. Our teachers, commonly called guides in Montessori schools, provide guided exploration that happens in the context of the whole and allows children to learn through individual activity.

Announcements

Denison Montessori’s Collaborative School Committee met last week for the first meeting of the year. Please review the CSC agenda and minutes to stay up to date on the information discussed. Please consider joining us for our next meeting on Tuesday, October 10th, at 4:15 pm in Denison’s library.
Playground reminder! Due to state licensing regulations for preschools, our preschool playground can not be used by students or families once they have been signed out of school. After signing out your ECE3 child, please exit all playground space, as our 4th-6th grade students come out for recess at 11:30. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Balarat Outdoor Learning is a DPS tradition for all 5th grade students. Balarat’s online store for Balarat branded t-shirts and sweatshirts, available in youth and adult sizes, is now open. You can visit the online store at https://stores.labseven.co/BOE/shop/home. All proceeds from sales go directly towards supporting and improving the Balarat site and program.
Denison Montessori and DPS are asking all families to fill out the You Benefit! form (formerly referred to as the Meals Application) for the 2023-24 school year if you have not yet done so. By completing the form, you will help Denison Montessori access all available funds to cover the cost of meals, and other nutritional programs for students. Families who fill out the You Benefit! form may qualify to receive discounted school fees, class materials, bus passes, utilities support and more! All household income information provided through this form is strictly confidential and protected by law. Only one form is required for all children in the household. Immigration, migrant, citizenship or refugee status is not required when completing the form.
