Director's Note

Hi Bulldog Families,

Historically, our first snowfall in the Denver Metro area is before October 31st, and this week we saw the trend continue. One of the things I love most about Denver is that we truly do get to enjoy four distinct seasons; just as I am over the too hot summer, we cool down in fall and just as I am over the too cold winter, we arrive in the spring. Students should be prepared for temperature shifts in both inside and outside of the building. We encourage students to dress in layers (aligned to both MS and HS dress codes), and wear their winter coats until they enter the building. We do ask students to remove their coats when inside to be aligned with both middle and high school dress codes. Additionally, if the weather is below 32 degrees and/or it is actively precipitating, then we will open our front doors 15 minutes before our normal door time, which is 7:30 for MS and 7:45 for HS. Students will be able to sit in our cafeterias until we release them to get breakfast and go to advisory. Students will not be allowed to go to classrooms or be in the hallways.

With the change in seasons, we also have been seeing more cold-like symptoms from students. We wanted to remind families to keep students home if they are running a fever or are otherwise ill. We are also looking for families to donate additional boxes of pencils, Kleenex, Clorox Wipes, and hand sanitizer as we work to keep our community healthy and learning.

Due to the recent events happening throughout the country, students will not be allowed to bring candy to school on Halloween. We want to ensure the safety of all students and staff during this time. If students are in possession of candy, it will be confiscated and not returned. Thank you for your understanding.
