- DSST: Conservatory Green High School’s art students recently undertook a transformative project that left an indelible mark on their school. The seeds of this artistic endeavor were sown a year ago when art teacher Alexis Wallin, the visionary behind DSST's Visual Arts Industry Connect class, had the opportunity to connect with local muralist Bobby MaGee Lopez. Innovative school on medical campus opens student’s eyes to future nursing career
- Bri Hayes, freshman at AST High School, has wanted to be a nurse since middle school. She had been trying to figure out how to go about pursuing that dream when she went on a visit to the Anschutz Medical Campus with her class. - The MTV CubeSat Club was interviewed for season 3 of a podcast series hosted by the Institute for Science & Policy at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science called Laws of Motion. It is an eight-part series about air pollution in Colorado and beyond and how we are navigating this complex problem that has no borders. You can learn more or listen here.
Resources & Reminders
- My Spark Denver allows parents who qualify in Denver to receive $1,000 for their middle school kids' participation in various after-school programs. DSST Public Schools is now an approved vendor for the program. The money can be used for things like sports and club fees and athletic uniforms. Interested parents can apply here. You must provide your child's DPS student number and proof of FRL eligibility for the current or previous academic year.
- Thanksgiving meal baskets and other holiday resources are available through different organizations across the city. You can find specific details for those baskets and other supplies here.
- DPS is taking applications for a Community Planning and Advisory Committee (CPAC). The committee will play a critical role in creating a bond package proposal that, if approved, will be presented to Denver voters in November of 2024. You can read more about the committee or apply here.

Colorado Gives Day
Colorado Gives Day is just a couple weeks away! On Dec. 5, we will celebrate the 7,200 students across our sixteen schools. DSST Public Schools is participating in Colorado Gives Day and we invite you to join us in starting a wave of generosity. Support our students in pursuing high-skill STEM jobs, succeeding in a four-year college or post-secondary program and furthering their sense of self with any donation. Donations can be made here and designated to our General Fund, the Ariel Berryman Memorial Scholarship Fund, or a specific school. Thank you for helping make a difference in the lives of our students and staff across our eight campuses!
