DSST Dispatch: March news from DSST Public Schools

03/23/23, 7:15 AM

We want to start this newsletter by acknowledging the shooting that happened at East High School yesterday morning. Our thoughts are with the two East staff members who were injured and the entire East community. As families, educators and advocates, we know this news comes with pain, frustration and sadness. We have a number of resources available to our community. Please use them if in need:

  • I Matter is a free program to provide mental health support for students.
  • Contact the Mental Health Center of Denver at 303-504-1500 to find a community-based therapist if you or your student need additional support.
  • Information about the role of caring adults can be found here.
  • Information about talking to children about violence can be found here.
