Dear KIPP Denver Collegiate Team & Family,

As you know, student safety and their well-being are our highest priorities at KIPP Colorado. With that in mind, I am writing to inform you of a recent incident at an evening soccer game at our campus on Friday, September 22nd. During the game, members of the opposing team and fans made threats to the referees. The Denver Police Department (DPD) was immediately involved and the campus was placed on a secure perimeter to allow DPD to support closure of the game and removal of the visiting team from our campus. DPD assessed the situation and has since released teams and fans.

Our top priority at KDC is to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for our students. We are committed to safety in all parts of the school experience, and that means responding to incidents like this in a timely way.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at jsimpson@kippcolorado.org

In Partnership,

Jessica Simpson
