The 2025 Platte River Academy Governing Board elections are here! Marissa Buzan has fulfilled her 3-year term and Katie Lindenberg has fulfilled her appointment for her 1-year term. We are very grateful for their service and commitment to excellence! For the 2025 year, there will be TWO open positions on the Governing Board and we would like to solicit your help.

The Governing Board is responsible for setting the school’s strategic vision, executing school wide decisions and policy, and maintaining a strong and financially-stable school. Governing Board members gain and possess a unique perspective into the day-to-day operations of the school, the administration, the faculty and the students. This is a tremendous opportunity to make a long-lasting impact on the growth and development of our children. Should I run for the Board? Yes! This board wants to incorporate a diverse and broad perspective of thought, well-informed opinions and a passion to see our children succeed. Many of our Board members have experience in a sundry of responsibilities from homemaker, finance, technology, construction, budgeting, education, executive leadership, prior board experience, legal and on.

Can I promote a candidate for the Governing Board if I am not a good fit? Yes! Please feel free to email the Governing Board (board@prak8.org) with your candidate’s name, contact information, and reason why you believe they would be a good fit!

What do you need to do to take this courageous step? The process and timing is as follows:

Complete a submission form by: March 28th, 2025.
This submission form will include a candidate profile and you will receive a follow-up contact from a Governing Board Member to complete a video on April 7, 2025.
A short video will be shared with the school community prior to the election on April 14th, 2025.
Voting takes place from April 21 - April 27,2025.
Results will be communicated to the candidates and then made public by May 1, 2025.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held the week of February 10th! Conference sign up will open on Tuesday, February 4th. We will be utilizing the app for sign up for conferences for grades K-6th. 7/8th grades will meet in the gym using the “round robin” style. No signup is necessary for 7th/8th grades. Teachers will meet on a first come-first serve basis.
Please go to the ReachWell App starting Tuesday, February 4th at 9am to reserve your spot.
Our amazing PTO will be providing the main entree each night for the teachers, but we are asking for parents help with drinks, snacks, and desserts. Please sign up HERE to donate items to help fuel our teachers through the conference evenings.
The Sunshine Fund will be set up for shopping starting Friday, February 7th. It will remain in the main hallway until Thursday, February 20th. Now is the time to stock up…the next time all clothing will be available is at the Back To School Picnic in August!

*Help is needed to both set up and take down The Sunshine Fund. If you are available to help, please go HERE.

Highlands Ranch High School Seniors were here at PRA to promote their Wish Week that starts TOMORROW.
Help us Root for Regina in the following ways!
- Wish Week Important Reminders (none of this is mandatory or required) but we are letting you know of events happening to support Regina and helping to make her wish come true!
  - Monday, February 3rd: Restaurant DAY at Costa Vida from 10:30am-9pm
  - Tuesday, February 4th: Any student who purchased a Wish Week T-Shirt can wear their shirt TODAY with uniform bottoms.
    - Restaurant DAY: Panda Express (ALL DAY)
