A Brief Reminder of Morning Drop-off Times, Rules, and Processes

Key Points:
  • Students are not allowed to be dropped off for breakfast before 8:30am UNLESS they are enrolled in Discovery Link.
  • Students are not allowed to be dropped off onto the playground unsupervised before 8:45am. 8:45am is when 'lite supervision' starts by DM Staff.
  • Students are not allowed to be in the hallways upstairs before the bell. Students who are continually violating this rule will be given in-school consequences and a mandatory parent meeting will be scheduled.
  • If your student is repeatedly acting out, not following school rules and procedures, and generally disrespectful and defiant--They will not be allowed to come on to school grounds before the start bell. Hanging out with friends before school is a privilege, not a right.
  • Once a student enters into our building or is on the playground, they are required to stay in the building or on the playground as they are our responsibility. Students are NOT allowed to leave campus without their guardian to go to King Soopers/Starbucks/gas station after they have been passed off to us. Students who leave will be suspended as this is a significant safety violation and concern.
Breakfast Procedures:
  • Students are allowed in the cafeteria/gym from 8:30 - 8:55

    • K-5 students sit at grade level tables in the cafeteria to eat breakfast

      • 1-5 Students who have eaten breakfast and cleaned up their personal area are allowed to be dismissed to the playground starting at 8:45am and NEVER before.

      • Students are NOT allowed to take breakfast food out to the playground.

      • K students are not allowed to be dismissed early.

    • 6-8 students eat breakfast in the cafeteria at the designated middle school table, dismissed to the gym.

  • All students from breakfast care transition to playground at 8:55am

  • 6th-8th grade students are dismissed out the gym door #6 to the playground at the 9:00am bell.
