Important Dates

  • June 1st, 10:30am: ECE End of Year Celebration/Continuation in Classrooms
  • June 2, 9:00am: 5th Grade End of Year Celebration/Continuation @ Cheeseman Park
  • June 2, 9:00am: 8th Grade Continuation Ceremony @ DM in the Auditorium
  • June 2, 1:00pm: Kindergarten End of Year Celebration @ DM on the Playground
  • June 3rd: Last Day of School - Half Day for All Students - Dismissal @ 11:35am

Reminder of Safety Procedures and Visitor Expectations

The horrific events of last week in Texas are stressful for all of us, but especially for our students. When talking to children about events like the one we experienced, here are some important points to remember:

  1. Reassure children that they are safe.

  2. Make time to talk.

  3. Keep conversations age appropriate.

  4. Review safety procedures.

  5. Observe children’s emotional state.

  6. Limit television viewing of these events.

  7. Maintain a normal routine.

If you or your child ever has concerns, please talk to a school staff member immediately, call 911, or call Safe2Tell at 1-877-542-7233 (SAFE) or visit https://safe2tell.org.

We are remaining diligent with our safety policies and procedures, especially as we will have more family members on site this week for our various celebrations. As always, all visitors will be required to sign-in at the main office and obtain a visitors pass. All exterior doors are never allowed to be unlocked or propped open and entrances at drop-off and dismissal are monitored by a staff member. Family members are not permitted to interrupt any instructional setting unless they are invited by the teacher and have this pre-arranged. The safety of all students and staff is our number one priority.

School Lunch Menu Items This Week

The hot lunch menu the last week of school will be “manager’s choice.” Menu options will be shared during morning announcements. As a reminder, a grab & go sack lunch will be available for all students on the last day of school (Friday, June 3rd) at the 11:35am dismissal.  

All Library Books DUE!

All library books are due back to the DM Library ASAP!  Please help your students make sure that they have returned their books.  If they are not sure about the status of their accounts, they can check with their classroom teachers or Ms. Christine in the library.  You can also email Ms. Christine at christine_santos@dpsk12.net. Thank you for your help with getting all library books returned before the end of school!
