Middle School Calendar & Upcoming Deadlines

CMAS Testing: April 10-April 18

  • CMAS testing will be happening April 10 - April 18 

  • Please support your student by ensuring that they are at school on time and well rested! This will help them do their best on this assessment

  • We will provide breakfast for students at school as usual 

  • If your student is not able to attend one or more days of this testing week, they will need to participate in Makeup testing which will occur through April 28th.

 

Immunization Clinic (Only 6th grade): April 20th 

  • CVMS is partnering with the In-School Immunization (Vaccine) Program at Denver Health to offer no-cost vaccines to students during the school day. This program helps to ensure your child has a healthy school year.

  • If you wish for your child to participate in the clinic and HAVE NOT filled out a consent form, please submit an electronic consent form:

Planned Parenthood - Sex education program at CVMS: April 21

  • As educators, we believe that every young person deserves access to comprehensive information and resources that will enable them to keep their bodies healthy and to have fulfilling, safe relationships. 

  • On 4/21/23 your student will participate in a sexual health program taught by educators from the Responsible Sex Education Institute at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.

  • If you do NOT agree to let your youth participate in this program, please call or email James Calvet at 720-837-1463 or james.calvet@scienceandtech.org.If we have not heard from you by April 20th, 2023 we will assume you would like your youth to participate in this education program.

      • Wednesday= Dodgeball Competition & A Taste of College View

      • Thursday= Pizza Pie Eating Competition

      • Friday= Wish Week Festival

    • Thursday, 5/4- STEM Day Field Trip to Coors Field!

    • Saturday, 5/13- CV Fundraiser @ Coors Field

      • Visit the front office in either the high school or the middle school for a ticket order form. CVMS gets a portion of every sale that we make, so please buy some tickets and support the wolfpack!

Wolfpack Athletic Updates

SPRING SPORTS:

  • Our spring sports are off to a great start! We have SO much going on, please come out and support our teams at one of our upcoming home games! Here are the dates for Girls Soccer/ Flag Football home games:

    • Girls Soccer:

    • Flag Football:

      • Tuesday, 4/11

      • Tuesday, 4/18

  • Girls on the Run is also in mid-season form! If you would like to support the program, please come out and cheer on our girls when they participate in the Colfax 5k on Saturday, May 20th at City Park downtown!

  • Boys Volleyball is still looking for more members! The team is open to boys in all grade levels, and we practice on Tuesdays & Thursdays in the gym from 3-4:15!

  • Our Cheerleaders are performing at SENIOR SIGNING DAY!! This is such a huge opportunity for our cheer program, and we are so proud of these girls! You can also come check them out at any of our Home Flag Football/ Girls Soccer games.

Community Engagement Updates

Wolfpack Family Meeting will be Saturday, April 8, from 10:00-11:00 am

Join us in the High School Conference room for a time to connect with staff and other families.

Formerly known as the College View Parent Pack (CVPP), we have revamped this Family Meeting space! 

Once per month, our Middle and High School Staff will come together with our Wolfpack Families to talk about important events and updates on campus. 

 

Coffee with Directors - Tuesday, April 11

All families are invited and encouraged to attend our informal meetings with the School Directors.

STEM & Creative Core Showcase - Saturday, April 15 from 10am-1pm

Each DSST school will have student group presenting their work in the fields of STEM and Creative Core classes. This FREE event will take place in the state-of-the-art building near the National Western Complex.

Self-Defense Workshops 

We are bringing in trauma-informed instructors from IMPACT Colorado to provide foundational skills in self-defense. All classes are free to the College View communities through a grant won by Nohemi Torres, a junior at the high school! REGISTER HERE: https://bit.ly/3ZmO12b
Spaces are limited so spots will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. 

The DSST: College View Campus will host these workshops in the Middle School Commons

1.5-Hour Workshops on Wednesdays:

  • April 19 (2:00pm-3:30pm) for High Schoolers (CVHS grades 9-12)

3-Hour Workshops on Saturdays:

  • April 15 (12:00pm-3:00pm) for Middle Schoolers (CVMS grades 6-8)

  • May 6 (12:00pm-3:00pm) for Families/Community Members/Staff

Fundraising

The King Soopers Community Rewards program is an easy way to donate money to your school by shopping at King Soopers! Sign up on the King Soopers website is fast and free! Just connect your Sooper Card to the program using our organization ID (EH570) and buy your regular grocery list. The school will receive 5% back. The money will be used as an established scholarship fund for students in the high school to travel out of Colorado before they graduate. Please take 5 minutes to sign up and start donating to a great cause!
