DPS Healthy Start Times Updates: 23-24 SY *Edited

Dear DSST: College View Middle School families,

This last week’s edition of the Our DPS Weekly newsletter included information about the new Healthy Start Times Initiative that will roll out in the 2023-24 school year. You also should have received an email from DSST Friday. You can see all DPS schools’ new bell times for 2023-24 here.

You can read more about the planned changes in those emails, but I want to emphasize a few important details:

• TIME DECIDED: Our planned start and end times for the 2023-24 school year will be 9:10 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. To be clear, the start times will not affect next school year. For the upcoming 2022-23 school year, our start time will be 7:30 a.m., and release will remain at 3:00 p.m.
• We know these changes may have implications for your family, and we are committed to supporting your needs and addressing challenges new start times may bring. We are exploring options for additional support for students in the mornings and transportation solutions. We will keep you informed as additional resource decisions are made.

I encourage you to take the DPS Your Voice/Tu Voz survey, available beginning May 2 if you have feedback about these planned changes. Thank you for your understanding as we plan for these new bell times.
