Message from the Principal- Eclipse

04/08/24, 7:33 AM

I hope this message finds you well. As we approach the upcoming solar eclipse today, I wanted to take a moment to share some important information with you regarding our school's plans for this celestial event.

While the eclipse presents a unique and exciting learning opportunity for our students, it's important to prioritize safety above all else. Therefore, we have taken the following precautions to ensure that our students can safely experience this natural phenomenon:

Eclipse Glasses: We have provided eclipse glasses to all students who will be participating in outdoor viewing activities during the eclipse. These glasses are certified safe for direct solar viewing and will help protect their eyes from harmful ultraviolet radiation.

Supervised Viewing: A few of our teachers have organized supervised outdoor viewing sessions with their classes during the eclipse. Rest assured that students will be under the supervision of staff members during these activities.

Recess: As the eclipse coincides with recess time, students will be instructed accordingly and are expected to where their eclipse glasses when viewing the event.

Please note that while we are providing opportunities for students to view the eclipse safely, attendance at these activities is optional. If you prefer for your child not to participate in outdoor viewing, please notify us, and alternative arrangements will be made.

As always, the safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities. We appreciate your cooperation and support as we prepare for this exciting astronomical event. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Thank you again,
