Follow-Up On December's Immunization Clinic

01/17/24, 3:00 PM

Good Afternoon McMeen Families!

Wow! It sure is nice to be back to seasonal weather! Though it was nice to be home an extra day yesterday, I sure was happy to be back seeing all of the students and their smiling faces.

I would like to provide a follow-up on the immunization clinic we held here at McMeen in December.

Aproximately 35 children and 80 adults were immunized during the clinic, with many more turned away due to the time limit of the Denver Health Immunization team. These are great numbers, espcially knowing that many of the 35 children immunized recieved multiple shots, not just one or two. Overall, the clinic was a sucess in that so many more people in the Denver community were able to access these important, potentially life saving immunizations.

Thank you to all who came out and waited a long time in line to receive immunizations. We have recieved helpful feedback from many of you regarding what went well and what needs some fine tuning for any future immunization clinics. We appreciate your grace, patience and understanding as we work in providing the best possible experiences for our McMeen community. If your student is still in need of immunizations, please remember that our DPS Denver Health School Based Centers provide NO-COST care to all DPS students, regardless of insurance or immigration status. Please see the attached flyer for information on these centers.

  Thank you and Keep Warm!

   Nurse Miriam
