Resources Over the Break
If you need any sort of resources over break (housing, food, childcare, etc.), please see this page for a huge list of resources! Food for Thought
Thank you to Food for Thought for providing all families with bags of food. You can check-out photos and learn more here. This will be an ongoing partnership. If you have questions, please let your child's teacher know. Classroom Ambassadors Program
Calling all parents! McMeen is launching a Classroom Ambassadors program (similar to the classroom parent role at other schools). Classroom Ambassadors will help support our classroom teachers, engage parents, and facilitate communication between parents and teachers, school admin, and the PTO. If you are interested in learning more or becoming a Classroom Ambassador — in either for your child’s classroom or grade level — email mcmeenpto@gmail.com. More details to come in the new year.
Teacher & Staff Wish Lists
Let's help all the staff at McMeen #ClearTheList! Use the links below to purchase supplies needed for McMeen classrooms through Amazon Wishlist. Art | Student Services | Library | Teachers & Staff | MLL Support Lunch Menus and Pork
We have recently started serving pork in our cafeteria. This is a decision that is made by the DPS Food Services Department and not by McMeen. We understand that many of our students do not eat pork for a variety of reasons and we are working hard to ensure they are not eating pork when it is available at lunch. Please make sure your child's teacher knows that your child should not eat pork if this applies to you. You can always access the DPS Lunch Menus on the DPS Food and Nutrition Services website. Here are the menus for the month of January

Instead of setting a New Year's Resolution, encourage your child to choose one word they want to focus on in the next year. This word should sum up who they want to be, how they want to live, and why they choose to be a leader. They should commit to focusing on this word daily.
The McMeen Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) supports the education and well-being of children at McMeen and fosters relationships among McMeen's students, families, staff, and local community. This mission is accomplished through volunteer support, fundraising efforts, community-building events, and teacher and programmatic support. Membership is free and open to all McMeen families and staff.
