🧸 Toy & Clothing Drive for McMeen Families in Need
Please consider supporting McMeen families in need. There are two ways:
  1. Donate new or gently-used clothes and other essential items: Sign up to Donate.
  2. Purchase holiday gifts for McMeen students: Because of the high volume of need this year, McMeen has partnered with local toy store, Beyond the Blackboard, to provide holiday gifts for McMeen students in need. Beyond the Blackboard will wrap each gift purchased and include additional stocking stuffer items. They have also donated thousands of new books to our students. Cash donations will be used to purchase Target and King Soopers gift cards for families. Use discount code “McMeen” and put McMeen in the ship-to section (1000 S Holly Street, Denver, CO 80246). Deadline for purchase is 12/12.

❄️ Winter Festival
We are seeking volunteers to help with the Winter Festival, on December 14,  and donations for our themed basket raffle. More information here: Flyer | Volunteer | Raffle Donation Information

Let's work together and teach our students how to be an UPSTANDER! 

 

An UPSTANDER is a person who speaks or acts in support of an individual, particularly someone who intervenes on behalf of a person being attacked or bullied. When students practice being an Upstander, they show love and support to the person whose feelings are being hurt. Upstanders remind others they have people that care about them and help remove them from the mean person. Upstanders can use a Power Phrase “Stop, you don’t have the right to be mean!” with the person being mean to set a boundary, or just walk away and get an adult to help! 


Feel free to role play with your student to help them practice being an Upstander and practice using Power Phrases at home!  

 

 

The McMeen Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) supports the education and well-being of children at McMeen and fosters relationships among McMeen's students, families, staff, and local community. This mission is accomplished through volunteer support, fundraising efforts, community-building events, and teacher and programmatic support.
