Peace in Our Community

10/11/23, 12:27 PM

Dear McMeen Community,

In light of recent global events we want to take a moment to address the McMeen Community of the importance of belonging and supporting one another. Regardless of your background, identity, or beliefs, we want you to know that you are an integral part of the McMeen’s community, and your well-being and success are of the utmost importance to us.

We are proud to have a diverse student body that represents a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. This diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and it is what makes our school such a vibrant and enriching place to learn and grow.

We want to make it explicitly clear that our school is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students, regardless of their backgrounds. We will not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment, or hate speech directed at any individual or group. Our commitment to equity and inclusion extends to everyone, and we will do everything in our power to ensure that each of you feels supported, valued, and heard.

We encourage you to engage in respectful and open dialogues about your backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. These conversations can be enlightening and can help bridge gaps of misunderstanding and prejudice. McMeen is a place where you can learn not only from books but also from one another's experiences and perspectives.

If you ever feel marginalized, targeted, or in need of support, please know that there are resources available to you. There may be times you would like support with talking to your child about loss, depression or suicide. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our school counseling team or one of the community providers below.
