 Ways to Get Involved

Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

See the info below!

Recess Volunteers

We are always looking for recess volunteers. Our recess runs from 11:30-1:10 everyday. We are happy to help you find the time your child is at recess if that is something you are interested in. The general idea is to provide a time for families to come and volunteer at recess and provide extra supervision. The sincere hope is that this is a fun way to support the school. We have put together a Guide for Playground Volunteers in EnglishSpanish, Arabic, and Farsi that goes over some basics of how to get started. You can sign up to volunteer at this link

Black History Month Resources for Families

Here are some Black History Month resources for you as parents/guardians:

Summer Connections (DPS' Summer School)

Denver Public Schools (DPS) is beginning enrollment for Summer Connections for all eligible families currently in kindergarten to fourth grade. The new EAL program will offer free classes in core subjects to enrolled students, allowing them to get ahead of critical course material and get a head start on the upcoming school year. For more information, please check out the Summer Connections website at https://www.dpsk12.org/academics/summer-connections/ . To enroll your student in the free summer program, go to https://myportal.dpsk12.org/

Family Breakfast

Thank you to all the families who have shown up to our monthly family breakfast! We have been working closely with our teachers to make this an impactful experience and hope it has been. Unfortunately, we have decided to pause family breakfast for the remainder of the year due to challenges with testing, end of year stuff, and some other difficulties. We hope to continue to work on how to build these types of connections with families over the next few months.

REMINDER Vision and Hearing Screenings

We got confirmations that our Vision and Hearing Screenings will be on March 8th, 9th, 10th, and 13th.

REMINDER GIRLS ON THE RUN IS COMING TO MCMEEN!

Classroom Updates

3rd Grade - In third grade, we are in the middle of our Interim 3 Assessment in both literacy and math. The kids have an opportunity to show what they have learned so far, and it is amazing to see how much they have grown! In literacy, we are currently wrapping up our unit on Ancient Rome. Students have just had the opportunity to create their own Roman Mosaics. These will be on display for the school to see. In math, students are beginning to explore the relationship between multiplication and division. We are pushing them to apply this concept to real-world scenarios. Math is everywhere!
