Dear McMeen Community,

Happy New Year!  I hope you all had a wonderful winter break.  We are very excited to kick off our second part of the school year with you and your family.

We had a fun and fruitful first semester of the 22-23 school year.  We have been able to see our students grow academically, as well as socially.  A big thank you to you all for our students’ success because we can’t do this without you.  As I reflect on last semester, I am  reminded how resilient our community remains. Through each challenge, we have been able to work together for solutions and positive next steps. I look forward to this continued partnership.

We have already started planning for next school year! We are excited to continue to add grade levels to our Dual Language program. Unlike other schools, our enrollment remains solid and consistent. As we plan for next year, we want your ideas and input and I encourage you to get involved with our parent groups to be able to share your ideas for what is next for McMeen. These groups include the Collaborative School Committee (CSC), the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), and our Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings.  Most meetings include interpretation in Arabic and Spanish. Your voice matters to us in making McMeen the best it can be. Below are the upcoming meeting dates for each of these meetings:

  • PTO - Monday, January 9 at 6pm via Zoom

  • CSC - Wednesday, February 1 at 5pm via Zoom (Budget Development for 23-24)

  • PAC - Tuesday, February 8 at 5pm (Spanish) and Wednesday, February 9 at 8:30am (Arabic)

Finally I want to say thank you for trusting us in the educational journey of your children.  We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the students and families at McMeen.  We look forward to many more successes as well as continuing to make lifelong memories as we come together as one community.

McMeen- Unite, Innovate, and Achieve.
