DSST: Conservatory Green High School

DSST: CGHS Secure Perimeter 2/24

02/24/23, 12:18 PM

Dear DSST: Conservatory Green Families:

You were likely notified earlier today that DSST: Conservatory Green, along with Northfield High School on the Paul Sandoval Campus, were placed under a secure perimeter for about 15 minutes around 11:45 a.m. today.  DPS Safety and Security initiated the secure perimeter while a threat to Northfield High School was investigated, which is standard protocol in this situation. Because we had already completed final exams, most students were gone from campus.

A secure perimeter means we lock exterior doors of our school and bring students and staff inside the building. Business inside the building continues as normal but everyone must stay inside the building. We quickly followed all school-level protocols in alignment with DPD and DPS’ Department of Safety, and students were safe and in regularly scheduled exams the entire time.

After a thorough investigation determining that there was no longer a threat to our school, the secure perimeter was lifted.

I want to commend our students, staff, and safety partners for the quick and professional response today. I am truly grateful for the strong community we have. The safety of your children is of paramount importance, and we continue to do everything in our power to provide a safe and vibrant learning environment for them to enjoy every day.

As a reminder, you can always review the DPS Emergency Guide for Parents. We follow these very same procedures as directed by the district, and this page is a great resource to help you stay informed.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to me.

All my best,

Meghan Janci
