DSST: Conservatory Green High School

Lockdown at DSST: CGHS today

12/07/22, 11:29 AM

Dear DSST: Conservatory Green families,

I want to let you know our school went into lockdown status this morning at approximately 10:50 a.m. at the request of local law enforcement due to a false report of a threat at Northfield High School. Denver Public Schools Safety and Security responded to the school to assist and provide extra security. The lockdown was lifted at approximately 11:12 a.m., and everyone was safe.

A lockdown takes place when there is a safety concern regarding a potential threat to a school. For example, the police may be pursuing a suspect on foot and the suspect is on school property. A lockdown will also be enacted if there is a perceived threat within the school. In a lockdown, school business and classroom activities cease, and everyone should be down, quiet and out of sight. Students remain quiet in their classrooms until the lockdown is lifted. If you would like more information about the district’s emergency procedures, you can review them here.

We will continue with our school day as planned, and we will have mental health supports available to students. If you choose to pick up your child, please report to the front office. Your child will be called from class and must leave from the front office.

Student safety is of paramount importance, and we will continue to follow district safety procedures in any situation that arises. If you have questions, please feel free to call the office at (303) 802-4127.

Sincerely,

Meghan Janci
